I went back to my dealer and purchased the 5-gallon pail of LS hydraulic fluid. Do I need it, dunno, but I’m not gambling my new tractor of the hydraulic fluid price alone. My last hydro was a New Holland so I used their fluids and 23-years later had no issues related to fluids. Your results may...
I was really hoping that some of you guys might actually give me a brand and type so I could get with the program here. I’m not trying to skimp just don’t want to make the wrong choice
Sitting here needing hydro oil how about some suggestions from the guys that have purchased some from Tractor Supply, NAPA, Advanced Auto, etc. so many different brands it’s confusing to say the least
I have a number of 1/4” & 3/8” hydraulic hoses to make and was wondering if anyone makes an affordable crimp machine that won’t break the bank. Reusable ends seem to be very limited to find. I had NAPA make two 27” long hoses for me the other day with 1/2” male npt on both ends at a cost of...
After getting the bracket mounted this is how it turned out, very solid on the mount. Notice I mounted a camera under the valve block to help aligning implements. Next time I get out to the barn I’ll get a picture of1 where the switch box was mounted.
Here’s a test fit of the bracket that I had fabbed up by another TBN member. Once I’m sure everything fits as it should I’ll remove, prime, & paint before re-installing and moving on to the plumbing and wiring.
Not sure I’ll be able to reuse the top & tilt cylinders that came off my old New Holland, if not I’ll order up the appropriate cylinders and hoses. The bucket grapple on my New Holland utilized a restriction orfice in the hydraulic lines to slow it down which really worked well, so yeah may...
Forgot to mention that my LS came to me with a detent in the factory installed single rear remote and because that won’t work well with the overall plan I’ll be modifying it so that it becomes a spring return valve. The kind folks over at Tractor Depot put the necessary spring in the mail to me.
Since there isn’t a lot of info floating around concerning adding rear remotes to a MT242HC I thought it a good idea to post this project in case others might be interested in doing the same. I’ll be adding a 6-circuit hydraulic multiplier offered by Summit Hydraulics. Starting out I’ll post a...
The rear remote on the MT242HC came with one detent rear remote. Is it possible to pull the detent balls out of the present remote to make it a spring return?
