    Failed bearing 7010

A couple mechanics came to my garage on May 5/17 and replaced the front hub assembly's on my 2012 LS7010. Mine were still good but LS (Pattersons) are upgrading 200 tractors in the area. They left me the old assemblies to do what I wish with. The tie-rod ends they had with them had grease...

Where are the "older" LS Tractors?

Thanks buddy, I designed and built the garage last year. Big job, glad to get her done. Just got to get the man cave finished up with better seating and internet to hook up an android box. I have been retired for 3 years but have got to learn to slow down and relax.

    7010 Tie Rod Ends

Today I added grease fittings to my tie-rod ends on the 7010. I thought it would be better to give them some grease before they fail. Just a note, that the boots should be sprayed periodically so they don't dry out and crack allowing water to get in.

How's everyone doing with the SNOW

Has snowed all day and suppose to continue through the night. Should end up with about 14". Lots of wind so drifting will also be an issue. I already have people calling to get plowed out tomorrow. I will be starting early in the morning.

75hp or 85hp Backhoe or 9 ton Excavator

About 6 years ago I bought an old John Deere 510B backhoe to use on my property for hauling shale, topsoil, digging out stumps, ditching, septic tanks, putting in culverts, etc... They are probably the most useful toy you can get if you have lots of work to do. Actually, one of the first...

Added LED Work Lights to LS7010

Today I added Sucool 4" Square 48W LED work lights to the rear of my 2012 LS 7010. I plow about 15 driveways in the area and very often it is late at night and you can't have to many lights. The original lights were not bad but these ones make quite a difference. It was the first time I...

    loaded tires rust rims faster

I use AGRI-LIM 50, it is made in Quebec and is environmentally friendly. Non corrosive and all that stuff. The rest of my toys have calcium but I did have to change a rim and tire on a 510B John Deere backhoe, expensive. Made a mess of the lawn for sure. Nothing lasts for ever, but it sure...

LS 7010 Electrical Issue With Differential Lock

I thought that it would be nice to share an issue I had with my differential lock. Last winter when I needed to use my differential lock I had to keep the switch pushed in for it to work. As soon as I let go of the switch the differential lock would not engage. So a month ago I thought I...

One Set of Work Lights Out

Thanks for the tip, here in NB we have lots of salt as well.

Proud owner of a new owner's manual

I like your modifications, thinking outside the box. I like the tool box you installed, I have the storage area behind the seat jammed full of emergency parts and wrenches. Not much room. If your tool box is rugged enough, you could still use it to stand on.

    I don't have enough tractor/traction, what now?

I agree, that lifting the blower slightly will make a big difference when going up a hill in deep snow. I do quite a few driveways within a 5 mile radius and several are steep and can be very icy. I run maxigrip studs front and back to help with the ice. Not as good as chains but better than...

Busy fall, plowing field to rid alders. Cutting and collecting wood. Bush cutting field for neighbor. Adding 3" to back drag. Getting 7010 setup for winter.

    Comparison mf 35 or 135

I have a MF 135 diesel and have basically rebuilt it over the past 10 years. When I first got the tractor the ring gear bolts came loose and broke the housing. I replaced the housing and bearings, etc.. at the same time. The good thing is you can still get parts for them and there are still lots...

MF 135 Hydraulics Overhaul Missing Dashpot Plunger

I got everything back together on my MF 135 and hydraulics are strong once again. I had a friend you weighs over 300 + lbs. stand on the back of angle blade in photo and it lifted it nice and smooth with no problems. Plus the blade has a 5 gal. bucket of chain to help keep down pressure on it...

    newbie snow removal advice needed

I did a lot of snow plowing this winter and used a combination of snow blower and snow pusher. I would clean up with the snow pusher and blow everything back with the snow blower. Worked good. I added a back drag to the top of the snow pusher to get the snow away from buildings and knock down...
