Fencing question: Wood posts vs Metal t-posts

I won't comment on wood posts as when we put in our horse fencing (now with Cattle in some of the paddocks), we went with 3-rail PVC from Gardner Fence. It has worked fabulously for us - here in MN. We have about 4500 ft of it with 10 gates. we do run electric in the pastures - which does a...

    Z930 Mulching Kit…. Observations

I’m really pleased with my JD unit. Built like a tank and enough power to mulch/cut anything … plus speed, too!

    Z930 Mulching Kit…. Observations

I live on acreage - trees aren’t that plentiful, so I don’t get overwhelmed…. However, there are still enough to be a pain - so the mulch kit is a real wonder! I use a blower to push anything in the landscaping into the grass and then boom, they go bye bye. ;) I would alway recommend one of...

2006 4320 front wheel seals leaking

Actually, we went to Idaho to bring back a Puppy that my daughter bought. It was a great family trip going out there.

2006 4320 front wheel seals leaking

Sounds like a heck of a time…. But at least you got it done and in. My front axle is working like charm so I’m very happy with everything. Together with solving the gel’ing issue that we had when we hit 35 below a month back (darn fuel filter mushed up), things have been good. Whiteout’s...

2006 4320 front wheel seals leaking

My rebuild of my front on my 4700 should last me - but I plan to be diligent given what I’ve learned about continuing to change the fluid and monitor the pressure in the unit. I’m fortunate to have two folks who are related in the family now that are diesel mechanics and have both worked on...

2006 4320 front wheel seals leaking

I have about 2800 on my 4600. The cost to take apart the axle unit, replace seals and bearings, etc., was about $1400 at the dealer. My daughter’s boyfriend (a implement dealer mechanic) took the axle unit off and delivered it to the dealer for the service. I know it would have been more...

2006 4320 front wheel seals leaking

This would be nice to have. I just had my front seals and bearings replaced on my 2000 4600 unit. The dealer said that he was surprised I hadn’t had it addressed sooner due to age, wear, and # of hours. And mine wasn’t a slow issue either…. One day it was boom and I had leaks on both ends by...

Front MFWD - JD4600 - Leaking axle seals

I picked up the repaired front end axle on late Friday afternoon. They replaced all the seals, checked the axle shafts, etc., and replaced the fluid. It took about 6 hours and several extra days as they had to wait for parts to come in. It is now installed and running very well! Just in time...

Front MFWD - JD4600 - Leaking axle seals

Thanks. John Deere reviewed the axle today and is going to replace the seals at the beginning of next week. I will talk to them about keeping the dip stick loose so it can deal with the rise in pressure…. They also told me that the bearings should also be replaced as over the years, the...

Front MFWD - JD4600 - Leaking axle seals

My JD4600’s front axle is leaking through the seals on the point where the driveshaft comes in and also at the ends of hubs (wheels). My local tractor mechanic indicated that the seals need to be replaced (the tractor is 25 years old) and had been leaking a bit in the past from those areas...

    4300 Hour Meter blank

That is what I did as well. My 4600 had it’s hour meter go bad 2 years ago. I replaced it with a new one from JD and all is fine… I just need to add the hours from the prior clock when I do my calculations for service (I keep a digital log of everything). -Bob

Fuel Stabilizer Types - Suggestions for JD ZTR, X330?

Sounds very similar here. I’ve never had issues in the past using Diesel and Gasoline treatments…. And I believe by running the engines that it helps everything stay consistent. I just figured that I’d check with some of the other folks here on whether this is still a good practice. The good...
