yes for sandy soil you have to turn it off like you did... watch to not go too deep and exceed the lifting capacity (aka lifting the front end)
For clay if its wet you have to be careful if it corkscrew in you have to lift it parodically if not it can get stuck, as long as it comes out in...
I would consider a dump trailer, I know I would... you can carry a tractor, and everything you mentioned above. You can easily rent it out to make some cash plus you never have to unload it by hand and haul anything with it .... just a idea to consider ... my next trailer will be a dump trailer...
or a vehicle without a back up camera... Before I backed up my first trailer I didn't know how... Although I don't remember anyone showing me, I am pretty certain I figured it out on my own... and they are not going to learn with this technology.
I saw it operate on my brother in law truck, it works surprisingly well... Would I use it or need to? hell no but some people surely should.
Seeing some folks backup their camper in a camp ground is pretty funny to see as well.

I got all my hay done … 40 round bales and about 300 small square bales ( i didn’t count them) it was a challenge to get good weather but we got her done.
nice mine also has a favourite log but I only throws it about 10 times a day … i make her work for it … and when she get board, she goes in the creek or lake for a cool off …but ya like saw dust or hay flying in the air and she catches it in the air pretty funny
