TYM T474 vs John Deere 4044M

See posts #59 and #61 in this thread. The justification for buying the TYM over the John Deere is "buy American". The clear implication is the John Deere 4-series is somehow more American than the TYM. Then, it is stated, "Ultimately, Even if a USA-Made product is 10X, im still going to buy it...

See Torvy's comment. He hit the nail on the head. I have no problem with John Deere. I actually agree completely with what you said, "built in the US ... just as much as any other manufacturer." My problem, is when individuals falsely claim that John Deere builds MORE of their CUTs in the US...

They do manufacture somewhere else. In a different country. That's the point.

TYM T474 vs John Deere 4044M

Again, the only thing coming off the line are lawn mowers. It isn't disputed that John Deere manufactures those and large Ag equipment in the US. The OP is looking at purchasing a CUT. The argument was made he should buy a 3-series or 4-series Deere, with the implication being it was...

TYM T474 vs John Deere 4044M

Unfortunately, this video just seems to confirm what others have said. John Deere's are assembled in the US, but not manufactured in the US. At least the video certainly didn't show any manufacturing going on. It showed assembly. Even one of the "manufacturing" engineers explained that her job...

In some cases it's even worse. As chance would have it, I bought a new Toyota today. Current incentives for Toyota are a $500 rebate ONLY if you finance. See, so financing is a better deal!!! . So I told the dealer I wanted to finance it, financed $1,500 of the total purchase price, paid cash...

My LS dealer offered me a $2500 cash price reduction over the finance price. Kubota didn't offer anything. One of the reasons I didn't go with Kubota. I'm not willing to pay a finance charge when I'm not financing the tractor.

Going WAAAAYYY off topic - this is a statement I here often, but don't actually agree with. Economies evolve. If they don't, they become stagnant and get left behind. We don't have blacksmiths in this country any more. Or Coopers. Or Silversmiths. Those used to be well paying, middle...

TYM T474 vs John Deere 4044M

Let's take your argument and rephrase it. Do you really think that a TYM tractor that has all of the features of a John Deere, the same amount of metal in it, functionality, etc. is designed and fabricated in a way that gives the John Deere 50% more value than the TYM? On a given day can it do...

Or another way to put it is that it is 50% (!!!!!) more expensive. I'll reiterate my post with the P.T. Barnum quote. "There's a sucker born every minute." I have no problem paying for quality and value when it is offered but Deere and Kubota do not offer enough to offset the price difference.

The flip side of that argument is, "There's a sucker born every minute." Attributed (perhaps rightly so, maybe not) to P.T. Barnum, a very successful entertainer. You see, he realized that profit does not always correlate with quality. Just because something costs more, and is in higher demand...

Looking at Bad Boy Tractors, thoughts?

I don't doubt that what you're saying, while maybe not universally true, is the norm, rather than the exception. Nevertheless, you're missing the point. If you have a problem with the way a manufacturer handles warranty claims, take it up with the manufacturer. Don't take it out on your...

Looking at Bad Boy Tractors, thoughts?

It's interesting how this topic has devolved into a discussion on dealer support and loyalty. It all started with one poster stating along the lines of, "when I walked in to inquire about a trade-in, you were rude and didn't give me the time of day." The knee-jerk defensiveness from the...
