I'm a machinist also. I see a lot of equipment come in the shop to be reworked that looks like it was greased when put in new, then never again. Just came in, a 1 3/4" shaft that is near worn in half.
Masscity, I have since used Fluid film under the deck. The ceramic (wax like thin coat coating) worked like magic.
It didn't hold up very long though. The fluid film is working fine for protection, but I liked the ceramic better.
But I'm not taking the deck off every 3 or 4 mowing's.
It looks I have to eat some crow. 1st pic is before mowing( 4th or 5th time mowing) 2nd is after. Not much difference. But I did mow when it was wet. Maybe this is why I have so much build up now. I swear, when I first mowed- nothing there! 2nd time- nothing! 3rd time a little bit sticking.
I'll...
I bought it from Amazon COLLINITE INSULATOR WAX. I used a knotted wire brush on my grinder to knock as much of the old grass and old coating as I could. Harbor Freight has some wire wheels I used also.
I was at it for a good while getting the bottom as clean as I could.
I had used brush on...
I thought I'd share this. I bought some ceramic coating after talking to a young fellow at work.
I cleaned my mower deck and applied it underneath.
I was amazed the first time mowing! NO stuck grass!!! Absolutely none!!! I've mowed 4 times now and only have a tiny bit the size of a pinky finger...
I'm having trouble opening the file. It won't attach.
I'll get with the guy that drew the hook up and see what's going on.
I converted it to G-code and text, but I can't see the DXF?
I had a few right up against the house foundation. I cut down most of what was there, left a foot or more to chain onto. I used a large come along strapped to a large tree at the base of it. I'd go out and give it a pull once or twice a day, after a few days or more," poof" the roots came out.
