John that is good to hear of the run times you are seeing. I will get a battery Powerhead and some batteries soon I am sure just to see how they work out. The good thing is with the Stilh Kombi system the attachments can be used on either. Since I do not golf i can use those funds to buy more...

I will have to get Echo Speed Feed Head as I hear many including you suggesting the change.
Our Redmax and Husqvarna Line Trimmers still have what there brand heads on them but I need to try the Echo
Thanks

That is a good point about the larger diameter line using more power.
For light residential use I usually use 0.080 inch but do change to either 0.095 or 0.105 when in heavy weeds.
Another good reason to get the largest displacement unit of the 3 Stihl Kombi Power Heads...

Good to hear on your old equipment. I love keeping good equipment running forever.
I typically use VP red 2 cycle synthetic oil at 45:1 (like to be conservative). I think it is a lower cost of Echo Red Armor. Usually get it at Walmart or other stors for $12.99 for 16 ounce...
Update.
I did purchase the Stihl KM 131 (4Mix) Kombi powerhead. Just working through the first tank of fuel with the line trimmer attachment. It seems to have more power than will be need for trimming and even heavy weeds but did I get the Bed Re-definer attachment that will likely use more...
We use only enough engine RPM to cut the grass/weeds. No need to throw the cutting debris on you or any nearby landscaping. With 4 cycle trimmer engines and electric that have a variable trigger control running slower RPM is no issue.
The problem is with two cycle engines that will load up...
I still have some Makita gas powered equipment and it was always good equipment and would expect their battery equipment to be good as well.
The key is you already have the 18V batteries and charger which is usually the high added cost item.
Side note: Have you ever looked at CPC Outlet...
Sometimes we can be slow learners.
I stumbled on old song that I sometimes play for the wife as a better option than arguing with her when she is clearly wrong. She usually leaves my presence so I do not get to see her laughing.
I google it on the speaker when she thinks she is winning a...
I do like the sound of a nice running 2 cycle engine (with earplugs of course). Especially my 75cc Redmax EBZ8000 large backpack blower.
Although I appreciate the less offensive 4 cycle quieter note when around others. The elderly retired lady sometimes calls me the noise maker if she is on...

Nice to know the Sthil 4 cycle (gas and oil pre-mix) can at least tolerate one tank of straight fuel and keep on running without destroying the engine. I worry about that when I have help sometimes. I do keep my fuel cans marked well.
Keith (just kidding you 🤣) at least...

I also was not happy that Sthil 4 cycle hand trimmers engines require pre-mix gas and oil. I had hoped they had an oil sump for engine lube not requiring fuel oil pre-mix.
My "most liked" dedicated Line Trimmer is the Husqvarna 324L. The best feature is it has the Honda GX 25cc 4 cycle...
Everyone I appreciate the many responses with respect to the Sthil 4 cycle (4 mix) power heads. Pleased to hear the positive experiences from this group using this series and the older variants.
So in summary, you each have empowered me to spend some money on the Sthil Kombisystem. I am...
Over the years we have had both and you will get used to either after awhile.
When buying front or rear wheel drive walk behind mowers my take is it depends on you yard and if you bag the grass clippings.
Level lawn with out bagging the front wheel drive is preferred to me. Easy to turn or...
