Well, I found me a disc. An 8’, 1969 Strathmore. The 24” blades are like new with only surface rust. No weld repairs and straight. In the process of freeing up all the necessary threaded parts and replacing all the bearings. That includes replacing the wheel spindles and hubs because the...
Replaced the Coulter disc blades and added mouldboard extensions to the KV yesterday. Got the plow propped up for safety to replace the shares and points this week.
You didn’t miss it. I have a 2007 JD 110TLB with the hydraulic options and I just got hold of an OEM NOS drawbar hitch bracket. The welded model. I have the 3rd & 7th functions, three OEM remotes, 3pt standard and optional top & tilt hydraulics. A new 4 in 1 CAT 74” bucket. Retiring soon so I’ve...
I don’t know about the weight of the L35 with or without the backhoe. Plus I sold it a while back. No added ballast. Even though I had previously disc that field, I set the plow deep. Old sod field. So for what it was worth I was pretty impressed with that L35. I really like the GST trans Kubota...
This was my previous KV before I was upsizing. It was (?) the model MB3BN that you couldn’t replace the number 3 bottoms with OEM. this plow did work the L35 pretty good but no worse than my Case 2-16 or Oliver 2-18.
Here’s my JD 1600 plow set up for 18” furrow. Can be adjusted for 14 & 16 as well. Spent a lot of time rebuilding it. My Case 5250 glides right along with it in hard pasture ground.
I regretted selling my Strathmore 8’ tandem way back when after selling my Kubota L35. That L35 could pull that Strathmore with ease. To replace that disc will be 4 times the money now for new. Absolutely a great disc.
