It's open on mine! I think mods shiver in fear when 2Lane is around!

    Good morning!!!!

RNG, You would have to go 18" deep for the wire and the water can be laid alongside at that depth or at 12" minimum below grade. Or use the gfi protected circuit as mentioned. you could go 12" deep for both if you put 2" of concrete cover over the trench. Sounds like you got a handle on it and...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning, RNG I'm not aware of any restrictions of running water and electrical in the same ditch at the same level unless it is utility owned electrical. Bury each to the code minimum for the water and electrical and use a warning tape when buried. Hot and smoky in Shasta today.

Pacific North West - Excessive heat warning issued

Another fire started yesterday at Lake Shasta 15 miles south of here. They say it was man caused but did not elaborate. It is up to 2,000 acres this morning with 0 containment and interstate 5 closed in sections. High temps down to the low 100's for the next week. it is going to be a long summer.

Pacific North West - Excessive heat warning issued

Took this picture yesterday from my buddies yard 1 1/2 miles from the fire. The planes and helicopters were flying for hours directly over us at a few hundred feet above the tree tops. It was quite a spectacle to behold. We were there to help him evacuate in the event that the wind changed...

    Beware! Yellow jackets are out.

Cup of unleaded at 5 this morning and no more jackets for now. I have several traps hung up on the roof overhang hat are baited with the liquid attractant but it barely works. They prefer cat food or salmon that I put in the traps. Some of the little Bastaards have figured out how to get out of...

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

Budlight, Bud regular, Coors Light, Sierra Nevada pale ale, any beer that is cold to the point of having chunks of ice develop upon opening. I just got done weed eating for 3 hours and were having a heat wave here! Cold beer at the creek hits the spot. Osb was 100 dollars a sheet and 3/4...

I bought the Honda 110 from Northern tool and it was delivered in a week. I am very happy with the buy. It is good to cultivate around the garden space.

    Is it just me?

When in and out came to town 50 miles away it was the same hype. I had a soggy bun but at least it had some rabbit food in there with the meat. I hate paying 6 bucks for a burger when I can go home and buy dam near 2#s of lean burger for the same price as a "where's the beef" hamburger. Fast...

    Is it just me?

It wasn't a total trainwreck as the people waiting on us were very courteous and friendly. Too bad the food didn't match their quality. I think i'll pass on breakfast or any other offerings after my lunch experience. I don't usually eat fast food and should have known better.

    Is it just me?

Yesterday the wife and I took the pilgrimage to the cathedral of the coveted chicken sandwich. Fifty miles one way, $12:00 and a bit of a wait in line and we were in possession of two of the sacred Chic-Fil- A sandwiches and 1 medium diet soda. The soggy granny's elbow skin bun on this creation...

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

Looks like the demand for people is going in the right direction. Would love to see the price of lumber follow that trend. Meanwhile......I mill!

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

I was in southern Oregon yesterday and the price of 7/16 osb was well below 60 dollars. It was $59.25 a sheet. I overcame the urge to buy a unit. Gas was $3.25 for regular and they pumped it for me. Here in norcal it is 4 bucks a gallon and you pump it yourself!

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

Home milling is the only way to go for me now and for the last 40 years. Some 50+ 2x6x12' doug fir and some 1x12 x12 pine boards all cut last fall. Stickered and covered with metal for a slow dry. The grain is tight compared to commercially sold crap of today. I know from years of being a mill...
