I picked up a used 1300 sickle mower. Other ones I've seen have a chain connecting the swivel arm to a stationary bracket on the frame of the mower.
Mine has a cable and a pulley. What is the cable supposed to attach to ?
Thanks,
Tommy
It seems that my Husky 2754 is getting slower over the years.
Especially in reverse. When I move to reverse position, it barely creeps backwards.
I'm certain that it moved faster when I bought it new in 2006.
I thought the belt from the engine to tranny was slipping, so I put a new one on, but...
My Super C has a 3 point hitch, so there aren't any hydraulics running to the back of the tractor.
How do I tap into the tractor hydraulics and run lines to the back.
Tommy-
My rear flashing hazard lights have not been working since last winter. I don't like to clean up snow at the end of my driveway without these lights on. Not that anyone is going to slow down when they see me out there, but I at least want them to see me when it's dark out.
I thought I would...
I have been having some troubles with the flashers on the back of the tractor and started chasing all the connections.
While doing this exercise, I noticed that there are a lot of branches off the wiring harness that don't have anything plugged into it.
I'm assuming that this is for accesory...
I'm looking to find a Sickle mower for my '52 Farmall Super C with 3 pt hitch.
Most of the mowers I find say that you need 30hp min.
Does anyone have a recommendation ?
Tommy-
The rear tire on my Farmall Super C blew out this weekend.:(
I'm not surprised. The sidewall of the tire had been peeled back in one area by the prior owner and the canvas was showing.
Now I can reach my hand right in through the sidewall. Definitely not repairable.
The tire is a 10-36...
Well it's been just over a month since I pulled the Super C out of the overgrown field, and found a completely seized engine.
Today the starter was delivered, so I gave it a whirl. After a few minutes of adjusting the distributor, and a little help from a shot of starter fluid and off she went...
Getting ready to install the front belt pulley on the crankshaft.
I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the thread in the crankshaft is 1/2-13.
Bought a long bolt yesterday and tried to thread it in there, but it didn't go.
Looks like the threads a bit buggered up, so I'll have to chase...
If you've been following along, I am in the middle of rebuilding my Farmall Super C engine.
I'm looking ahead a little bit, but I have a feeling that the Hydraulics in the tractor is seized up also.
So, i'm wondering if when I start the engine, should I not attach the hydraulic pump and put a...
I started dis-assembling my Farmall Super C this weekend in order to get the seized engine off of it.
I decided to take the front wheels off first, and seperated the steering linkage at the forward U-joint.
I took the U-joint apart by removing 2 of the bearing end caps. They were kind of stuck...
I got my Super C home the other night after a few hours of wrestling it out of an overgrown field.
Today, I started the process of getting the engine runnning and ran into a number of things I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with. Oh well, such is life.
The tractor was sitting in the field...
A very close friend of mine inheritted this tractor after her father passed away a couple years ago.
She is pretty sentimental about the tractor, and doesn't really want to sell it to a stranger and never see it again.
I really don't need another project right now, but I could see restoring it...
I have a lead on a used ALamo AC-60 flail mower that I plan to use on my John Deere 790.
The tractor is rated at 27 hp, probably around 25 at the PTO and the mower is 60 inches wide.
Does anyone have this set-up or something similar that could comment on whether the horsepower will be adequate...
I have had my 2001 John Deere 790 for about 2 months now, and everytime I head down a steep slope and need to apply the brakes, it makes a grinding or maybe ratcheting type sound. It sounds like it's coming from the rearend.
I can't tell if it's only on one side or both.
Is this normal ...
