Of course you've bleed the fuel lines good and I wouldn't be concerned with the new pump, perhaps a bent fuel line . I would cut à seven foot piece of water hose stick it down to the bottom of the fuel tank and siphon a gallon and see what's in there, diesel is real bad about gunking up with trash.
