    Massey 1736 Shuttle Shift Jerk

Thanks RayIN, Interesting as mine says to just do it at slow speeds, not high speeds. I wonder if there are differences in models/years. I tend to use the clutch anyway 99% of the time as i am used to it, but clearly something is different.

    Massey 1736 Shuttle Shift Jerk

I have a 1736 with a cab and it has the 12 gear shuttle shift. Just recently i noticed that when i shift from forward to reverse (yes, i am moving slow), i get a hard jerk. It happens both ways - going into forward and reverse. I have no issues manually clutching and moving the shuttle shifter...

    1736 Running Hot

Thanks everyone. After using an air blowing wand from harbor freight and also using the soap and water combination I was able to get the tractor to running at the normal range I had seen previously. I also had to start and kill it a couple times to get the fan blade to move to another location...

    1736 Running Hot

The thanks all. Cleaned the radiator and coils good with air, soap and water. Started brushhoggjng and it went up to 4 bars (90 degrees out). Seems like it used to ever get above 3 bars. Does anyone know where it shoukd run (bars/temp range). Not sure if I have a problem any longer or not...

    1736 Running Hot

Thanks. I will give the soapy water and hose a try. Biggest issue is getting back there as the fan is in the way and then the condenser radiator is right in front of the regular radiator so they really dont give you good access to clean things. Next to impossible to get water straight into the...

    1736 Running Hot

Do you use compressed air or water? Also, is very tight in there, is ther a oil that helps get in there to clean?

    1736 Running Hot

Our 1736 is running hotter than normal. It was about 90 out the other day and I did about an hour of brush hog work. I noticed near the end that the ac was not cooling well (temp was also bouncing from 4 to 5 bars). I stopped and went to the barn. Turned off the tractor and got out and cleaned...

1736 Reduced Power with PTO Engaged

I am having an issue with my 1736 while running the pto. The issue recently started - basically any time I run the pto (brush hog or tiller) the tractor seems to bog down. For example, I normally run the tiller at 540 RPM and in midrange gear 3 or 4. Now it bogs the tractor down and I have to...

1736 Premium Cab - ac working intermittently

Thanks for the help. Cleaning front screens and blowing out debris between the radiator and evaporater coil fixed it. Had cleaned these just a short time ago but running the brush hog for just a few hours must have stirred up more debris than I thought.

1736 Premium Cab - ac working intermittently

I did check the cabin filter (is on outside of the cab under roof lip) and it was fine. I did watch and am not seeing any water coming out or the drip hose. Normally there is a lot coming out after ac has been running. I need to find out where the connector is to measure and add Freon.

1736 Premium Cab - ac working intermittently

I was thinking the same thing, but was doing it the other day and it did it again and there was no load on the tractor - using to set a few brace posts.

1736 Premium Cab - ac working intermittently

The AC is not working properly in the cab. Seems to run and blow cold air for a while, but then the air coming out is only a little cooler than outside air temp. Seems to do the same whether in fresh air or recirculate mode. Any ideas?

    Unsecured hay hauling

As a small farmer who raises cattle and some hay I always secure my load, the exception being if I am hauling on my own property or between them which puts me on a small county road for a few hundred yards at most. Equipment or hay on trailers going any distance is always secured. That being...
