No! 30 year old equipment that is well maintained and has some sort of parts supply is not too old to keep. It might be too hard for some peoples pride and it “could” cause some customers to unnecessarily question a company’s image and/or success.

IMHO you’ll need to mow it more regularly if you go to a zero turn. My recommendation for you would be the Cub Pro Z 700 or 900 series

What is the part number? Is it a 54/60/etc? My search f indicates the spring kit is available for the Titan.

I have the Kawasaki 23 with 54” deck. I wanted the Kohler 25 but nobody had them in stock and the TSC 0% financing for 48 months was ending soon. I will look into the Big Boy spring kit.

I’d say that is typical of brush failure, unless your wife was also rocking the ignition back and forth. With a new tractor it would likely be a bad connection rather than worn brushes. Typically, brushes can be replaced if you can buy them. Keep us posted.

My mechanic replaced the seals in both my bucket cylinders. There’s a really neat DIY trick to install the cup seals on the piston located on YouTube.
