Rarely loan stuff but I've loaned out a ladder twice. First time it came back with chain saw rash on the top rung, second time (different guy) the rubber rollers at the top were chewed off. Never loaned out my tractor.

Loaned my farmboss chainsaw once. Was returned with an additional new chain, "just in case" they had damaged the original, which they didnt.

I posted early that my neighbor and his son have keys ti mine. Yesterday my fuel shutoff went out. So I dropped some trees. Called my neigbor ask if his 8n was running it not radiator went out. He said he noticed I dropped some trees. Ask me what I was doing told him had three small tree that I need to move and was doing with a come along. He reply if I had told him he would have left the key to his F250 4wd and I could have used it.

get him to pull your trailer and go get your tractor since your truck is down at the moment :laughing:

I have bad luck borrowing things. I take care of them like they're my own but they just happen to fail while I have them and I end up paying enough to fix them that I should have just bought my own. Last two things I borrowed cost me a day of labor for a 30min job. Borrowed a friend's PTO auger and the bolts that pin the auger to the right angle gearbox came out while it was spinning, caught the guard and mangled it. I spent the rest of the day fabricating a new (and more robust) guard for it. Borrowed a trailer from the same guy. I had to unload his tractor off it before I could take it, and somehow I managed to break both the ramps before I ever got the tractor off. Spent the rest of the day fabricating new (more robust) ramp attachment points. I don't know why this always happens. But nobody that I ask hesitates to loan me stuff, as it will most likely come back with improvements that I was forced to make for one reason or another.

maybe he just lets you borrow something that he needs rebuilt better

The problem was not him pulling it shop is closed on Saturday. I called the shop back today I can drop it off on Saturday as sasles is open. They want 275 to p/u 72 miles. I talked to my neighbor hevsaid he has split many tractors and has a friend that does tractor work at his house, so we may do it and get parts under warranty.

I've had pitchforks and shovels returned broken. :confused3:

ONE person I would lend tools/machines to would be my brother. It would be returned tuned, repaired, cleaned, oiled, waxed and detailed. With a handy printout of the owners manual just in case I had lost it.
