Massey Ferguson 1030 4wd stopped working

Good morning, I have a 1984 Massey Ferguson 1030. The other day it was like 5-10 degrees outside, I get my tractor running to plow some snow, the hydraulic system for the loader wouldn’t work, I got that going and has 4wd for about 150’ and it stopped working. Is this a contaminated hydraulic system causing this or is it much deeper? I under stand that the power assist is hydraulically driven, any info is good info at this point. How did you get the loader to work after it wouldn't?
Have you checked the condition of the hydraulic fluid? Is it milky in color or dirty?
When you drain a little fluid out at the drain plug, do you notice any water? Water is heavier than hydraulic fluid and will therefor be at the bottom of the reservoir. You might see ice if it is still cold out.

I have to wonder where you got the information that the front wheel assist is at all hydraulic in nature. Maybe yours is the exception but all those I've been around were strictly mechanical like most compacts.

My experience with 4WD tractors is that when the front drive stops suddenly with no prior issues or strange happenings, the problem is most often something do do with the front drive shaft coupler and/or the splines on the front drive pinion shaft. Have you confirmed that all of that is in working order?

Hydraulics not working in cold weather is a known, very common problem, and can have numerous causes. What have you accomplished on that front?

I drained all the hydraulic fluid, it was 100% full of water, after I got that drained and new fluid worked through the system, I drained again and changed the filter again, still a little bit of water in it. So that problem I have started to advance on fixing. As far as the 4wd I was driving from my my shop to my house and the front wheel and hub came off the tractor, the nut that holds the spindle/ hub came off internally, I am hoping it didn’t mess up the gears, now I am on the search for a hub and bearings and seals, I haven’t fully disassembled the 4wd planetary to see what else may be needed…… my guess is that could be the reason the 4wd suddenly stopped working. I am having a heck of a time finding the hub/spindle. I can get the bearings I need pretty easy seeings how one is a standard 6207 bearing… any help with a place to find a used spindle would be awesome. I just got this tractor and have used it 2 times, so I am not to familiar with it. I grew up on a farm but we had case, international, white and fords.
