Opinions on Footwear

The collective opinions I've found here have never let me down in the past. Now I will see if this applies to footwear.

What's the go-to make and model of footwear that would meet my personal hang-ups, which are:

• I put my boots on in the morning and I take them off at night. I can't stand having to take shoes off in the middle of the day, nor can I stand not wearing footwear
• Steel toes are preferable
• I work a white collar job (100% from home), but I can find myself outside excavating a new driveway, cutting up felled trees, and other such things on a whim in the middle of the day
• I have a very visible role in church, which is a pretty casual place, but I wouldn't want to stomp around in super heavy-duty boots
• Black is the ideal, neutral color

Picture something that's similar to the old Doc Marten boots before they went all junky. What I look for is akin to a modern day "LTZ" style Silverado HD. Beefy enough to do real work, but also appropriate for every day use, so not a dump truck, and also not a Toyota Camry.

I wear Keens to work every day here at the university and I deal with professionals all day every day. I find they're dressy enough but still boot enough. Probably the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Once I get home, these Keens come off and Rocky Original Ride western work boots go on for the nitty gritty stuff.

I wore steel toed boots with an external metatarsal guard for about 20 years. The Redwing Shoe Mobile came to the factory twice a year.

My favorite were ankle high boots. Cool it the summer, warm enough in the winter and light enough to work a 12 hour day, walking or standing, inside or outside.

Redwing's tear up my feet. My employers for the past 20 years have had a boot program with redwing.

It's the sole design. I need something with arch support which redwing doesn't have.

Thankfully once I got a company credit card, I'm not stuck with having to go with redwing.

Took me a while to figure, but timberland pros have been the best for me and my feet.

Their linesman boots have extra arch support for people who climb. They just so happen to be perfect for the arches in my feet.

I had to buy expensive insoles for redwing boots and they helped, but didn't cure the aches in my feet.

Redwing's tear up my feet. My employers for the past 20 years have had a boot program with redwing.

I have custom insoles (i.e. molded to my feet. And use "Super feet" in every work boot I wear.

My present "go to" around the shop and yard boot is a just above the ankle Timberland. Not a pricey boot.

then there are the White boots. ;-)

Just looking , seems that the White brand is not what it used to be. I've only worn the logger, un-caulked! ;-)

Once you get used to a heel, it's hard to go back.

Considering they are typically rated for 2,500 lbs+ if you've crushed them I think your probably in rough shape with or without.
