Don’t buy the glued together Redwing imports. Buy the sewn US made heritage series.
Had 3 pair of the sewn sole logger boots over the years. No pair made it past 3-4 months before the thread ripped out of the leather upper allowing the heel to tear loose. Haven't touched a single Red wing in over 20 years. Just overpriced junk shoes.

Man, I dont know some people wear those 1890s type boots; no give in the sole... I don't care if you have me original redwing loggers, I wouldn't wear them. I like the Irish Setter slip ons, and they hold up well. I've had Justin's slip ons, and Wolverine slip on, but about 18 years ago, I got a big toe crushed at work, and walk with a bit of a slid-shuffle, that wears the heals and sole weird, and fast. Basically, for about 5 years I didn't bend my left big toe when walking, and it would wear the boot out in 6 months. The Irish setters get a good life span, aren't that expensive (not that cheap either).

Other thing, I'm not tieing boots or lacing up, or any of that, everything I own are slip ons. I dont wear shoes or socks in the house, so I want something I can slip on and do want I want, and take off just as easy.

As a note; when I got my toe crushed, I wasn't wearing steal toes, and thanks to that, I just got it crushed. If I was wearing steel toes, it would have been a loose of the whole front of my foot. Roll off dumpster truck set the roll off rail on my toe. Steel, composite, whatever, isn't gonna help with that.

White or Nicks boots are top notch made in US. I have had a pair of Nicks for 10 years and worn them almost daily They have been resoled once and the heels are showing wear to where they need another resole soon
They are custom fit and are extremely comfortable. See below for a video about White and Nicks

I have worn White’s for forestry field work for 40+ years. They are unbeatable and hard to wear out. The custom fit allows me to wear them all day in rough country without foot soreness. They are also rebuildable, but they aren’t cheap. The roughout leather seem to go forever and doesn’t crack.

I go barefoot as much as I can (indoors and out) too. I'll have to look into some slip ons for those times I need something on my feet. I've tried crocs, but find them very uncomfortable. Wife made me throw out my last pair of what she calls swamp shoes. Gotta admit, they were getting pretty nasty. :ROFLMAO:

I've dropped a couple things on my left big toe too (tire, firewood) and the nail is pretty grody now. I have to soak that foot to soften the nail before trying to trim it, otherwise it just shatters.
