We just bought a ford 1620, we’ve run it a handful of times for a total of maybe an hour or two over the course of a few days. Took a short break and went to turn it back on but it’s not turning over at all. The oil pressure and battery lights illuminate, but nothing else happens.

Glow plug replaced, water pump replaced, some hydraulic hoses + hydraulic fluid replaced, and oil changed at dealership prior to purchasing.

Any thoughts on what might be going on or things we can look at?

1) Clutch Pedal pressed down and the 2 pto's both disengaged?
2) Battery or bad connections? check the ground cable down on the frame under the battery.
3) Neutral start relay, this is mounted to the front of the 'firewall' and must be energized. this relay is energized by the 3 switches on each of pto levers and on the clutch pedal. If any one of these switches is bad, or if the relay is bad, the key switch signal will not get to the starter relay
4) Bad starter.

I belive the wiring diagram below is the same for your 1620

This morning we are just seeing the oil pressure light on, no battery light on the dash.

You’re going to have to start testing things, battery, cables, starter. Any safety devices, PTO, seat, clutch, etc.

Your battery is defective, the connections are dirty or loose, or you have not satisfied one of the safety switches. You are going to have to troubleshoot this, there is no magic cure.

Totally get that, not looking for a magic cure. I figured posting here could give us some good starting points since we are very new to the world of tractors.

Yes, we’ve been working through some of these things! We are brand new to tractors so figured we’d try and get some starting points before our dealer opens tomorrow morning.

Thanks!
