Do you sprig other places with the lip removal scrap you haul off?
I have never done that. But, it could be done. The material we remove from the lips is often mostly soil and not so much grass.Do you sprig other places with the lip removal scrap you haul off?
Curious how much free labor you give the company you work for? Working without compensation it is not smart. (Unless you expect some kind of promotion but that day may never come)You're absolutely right on that - time is money and the coaches are watching the time as well as the students! They don't want to do "anymore" than is necessary - just as the rest of the classified staff pays attention to time and requirements! It's all set. Do what is needed and that's it!
I don't do a lot of work on golf courses. They do have tons of equipment.Do you work on a lot of golf courses? I always thought they had a fortune in equipment to do everything possible to keep their grass just like they want it.
That and few rainouts. The small school my daughter just graduated from still has grass football field.I have said many times to anyone who would listen, "If your main concern is the safety and well-being of the players, you will never use fake grass"
However, more and more schools are going to fake grass, and I think the main reason is that the coaches don't want to do the maintenance on them anymore. And the fake grass looks really nice.
It's a combination of things that cause the lip. One of the biggest reasons is because they drag the infield before almost every time they use it. Since they drag in a circular pattern, this will sling some of the infield soil into the grass. Another reason is that the grass just grows and thatch builds up. The grass doesn't grow in the skinned area. And you have players kicking the dirt out as they play, and wind will blow it out into the grass.Does the lip just build up because of how they mow the grass?
