I Thought I Could Smell a Mouse

Mom's boyfriend had his old dodge truck sitting for a week while he waited for a part to come in.

A week later he put the part in and took it for a test drive. It was cold that day so he kicked on the heater and it popped the fuse to the blower.

He tried it again and it popped the fuse again.

So.... he started taking the dash apart.

As soon as he loosened the first panel he had some acorns fall in his face.

Pulled the panel off and looked in the dash and found it slapped full of acorns
I almost cried.
There's a video of a Ford GT packed full of rodent crap and nuts.
The owner died and the family left it outside for lie 5 years.
What kind of money do you have to leave a $500K+ car to let the critters destroy it?
Anyways the video is aboot the restoration service done to. Doug Demuro.

Yup. My 2020 F350 right now has a bunch of mouse stuff above the cabin filter. If I pull the filter (slide out-slide in) all the stuff on top of it will fall into the fan directly below it. Then comes a major tear down under the dash on the passenger side.

The mice can't get in or out through the cowl grill. I 'AM SURE' there is an opening behind the L&R fenders just ahead of the door hinges but there's no way I am gonna pull the fenders to find the spot and add some wire fabric.

Perhaps pull the filter while having a powerful vacuum cleaner's hose right at the filter to suck the stuff up before it can get into the fan?

The rectangular filter fits into a slot so anything on top of it gats 'scraped' off as you pull it out.

^^^^ It is doing super - Not a hint of mouse. A real pleasure. I've keeping a couple traps in it and they haven't been touched. Been catching a few in the garage though which is normal for this time of year when the nights are cooling off.

Yep Gordon, the little beasts like to get worm and have feed, that's why we do have a female in house cat along with the barn/shop cats taking care of their territory has always been the ticket for us. 😉

There's a fellow on Youtube named Shawn Woods that has a channel named "Mouse Trap Monday". He has over 1000 videos on various traps he's tried. If nothing else it's entertaining.

Yes I know. We used to have 3 or 4 outdoor cats all the time, and if it was up to just me we still would.

But, now we just have indoor cats. :(
