They are turfs and I did use chains (4-link ladder type) when I had my 4400 Deere. But, as you wrote...turf tires are very good in the snow. First winter in Vermont, I cleared snow before the chains were even unpacked...that was a pretty heavy snow too. Very unlikely that, if I buy the tractor...
