FEL lubrication - has to be a better way

Any pins and bushings its best to use a grease with Moly. I use Schaefers 238 in mine, been very happy with the it. What tractor was that worn boss in? Was the keeper bolt always in the pin to keep it from moving?

    Case cx36b ownership

Lookin good GT, your doing just what I'd be doing to it. When you were into the hyd tank did the fluid look nice and clean? If there was anything questionable about the fluid I'd spend the money on a couple 5gal pails of new and change it. I'm a big believer in moly grease for all pins and...

Insight on buying a mini excavator vs renting

From your first PDF diagram A3-5 is you return filter. Looks like just take the 4 bolts out, there will be a spring lifting on the cover as you take bolts out. Easy peasy. One important thing to remember any time you open up the hyd system is be super clean so no contaminants get in.

JD 5115M PTO RPM Gauge Works Intermittently

It definatally threads in , have you unplugged the wire at the sensor and sprayed with wd40? Might just be bad connection . I don't think there's any adjustment to it

Insight on buying a mini excavator vs renting

Sounds like you needed it plenty to justify, I bought fall of 2017 6 Ton , my experience closely matches yours little over 1200hrs on already mostly own farm use. Curious about the jib you mentioned, something you bought ? Or made yourself? What model excavator did you get yourself?

Insight on buying a mini excavator vs renting

Well after reading your last post on the 36b I don't think I'd want to give even 20k for it. With the current owner guessing few K hours and tracks likely replaced its a very safe bet he's right . I'm not a fan of buying any machine with hours definatally Unknown . Is the hour meter working now...

Insight on buying a mini excavator vs renting

Ahh the cobbleko, been hoping you add some pics, thanks. Hmmm is right. When I look at it I'm trying to justify or not justify the hours. Tracks if original?, look to be at ballpark 75% from pics best I can see, that adds up correct. Can't see the cutting edge on blade but the top side looks...

Look at the roots on this beast.

Here's a few pics of some sweet cherry stumps I've taken out of my orchard. I've taken about 2000 out in the last 3 years, some smaller than these but also some quite a bit larger with 2' diameter trunks and even longer roots. These cherry trees are on a Mazzard rootstock some of which have...

    Track roller maintenance

Was in my shop few days ago and happen to spot about a 11/2" diameter spot of oil on the track of my ec60e Volvo , first leak of any kind on it with 1200 hrs. Sure enough the roller right above it had a drip hanging off it, outside seal only . Looked at the other 9 rollers both inside and...

Thoughts on 5100m and 5115m loader tractors

Looking at possibly buying one of these two tractors with cab and loader. One I'm considering is a 2014 5100m with H260 loader, notice the newer ones use a 540m loader, what's the difference they look the same? Also is there any significant difference between the 2014 model 5100m and the newer...

    Kubota KX121 vs KX040

Seems if you want the 6way blade the Kubota is only game in town and correct me if I’m wrong but they only offer it on the 121 or 040? Sooner or later you’d think the other mfgs would start to offer it and Kubota would offer it on their other models. My ec60 just has the straight blade, I’m...

    Vertical dig depth

I've got a Volvo ec60e 6ton mini excavator that came new with a werk-brau 2 ft heavy duty bucket. Like pretty much everything about it except it won't come anywhere close to the 9'6" vertical wall dig depth that the specs claim it will. Talked directly to werk Brau about it, they said it is the...

    Cushioned gooseneck hitch

Bought a new double tandem gooseneck trailer bout a year ago and the dealer talked me into buying a shocker air hitch for it. Use the trailer to pull my mini excavator (13,000lbs) and cherry tanks full of cherries (20,000lbs ) seems to really work well to remove the fore and aft jerk both at...
