    Yes, I've done that also. I just tried to get one quick. Was right between tractor shows and I had taken the inspection cover off the Simms pump to inspect and clean the vent and then had a slight drip overnight after that. So had to redo it again. It's like a square rubber gasket.

    Just check where the valve stem is in the rear rims and make sure they are not starting to rot. The rear rims are about the most expensive pieces you would ever have to replace on those tractors.

    I have 2 acres of finished lawn around my house. For years I used an MTD 824 Classic and 2 newer Craftsman lawn tractors to mow. For the same gallons of gas those 3 used to mow my lawn once, my Kubota B2620 diesel mows it 13 times.

    I don't even think about brand. I've heard all this great stuff about Interstate so put two of those in my last diesel and I had to have them replaced under warranty. I didn't find them any better than the cheap batteries I get from Parts Source. Those ones are made by Johnson Controls though...

    Yes, you have a point. But if it's ballasted good on the rear and you just need to use some technique running the loader. Best way i can say it is 4WD lets you be a bad operator and get away with it, LOL 2WD you just need a little more finesse.

    That's what I always used to use on my dirt bikes. Maxima Chain Wax. But then I watched some you tube tests like the one Fort Nine did testing chain lubes and I fell on the side of no lube at all on o-ring chains. They last longer with no dirt stuck to them.

    Possibly the bolts came loose in the bell housing to cause that. I had a couple old 8V71 Detroits with 13 speed Road Rangers and the bell housing bolts always came loose. That would break that bellhousing.

    I don't have any fuel pump shops around me, But if I ever need pump work, I will be sure to contact you pumpguy I did ask Anglo in the UK also, and they don't have them either. Luckily mines not trashed.....I just have to fiddle with it a few times to get it to stop leaving a drip overnight.

    Only reference I have is we have a Kubota R630 wheel loader at the mine and they overheated it many times and the motor finally went. A brand new crate engine for it was $12,000 Canadian and no core charge. Our shop said not even worth rebuilding the old one for that.

    The transmission lift cover is like that. Has all kinds of o-rings and I ordered a re-seal kit from Steiner, but some people say only the original Ford ones seal? Guess I'll find out next time I service internal hydraulic filter. Apparently they are all more of an "x" ring or something like that?

    Either that or how about putting a thin layer of Permatex Ultra Blue RTV gasket maker on it?? The cover only has to come off to clean the vent filter, which I have never seen it dirty or gummed up. The oil has it's own drain, check and fill plugs.
