I think it’s crazy that a saw leaks oil continuously after use. I could see a little right after shut down, but this one I just took back leaked like a 1/4 cup while sitting. I’m not paying for that. I tried a DeWalt 60V battery saw and it leaked oil from day one badly. Glad to see that thing gone.

I just bought a 194T that slobbered oil. I took it back and got a new one, it stays dry. My 261C seeps a bit. My 500i stays dry.

Probably nothing. The shear bolts should be engineered to shear before damage to the clutch packs. Try not top make a habit out of it and shoot the ground hogs if they are making the dirt mounds. Those miserable oversized rats do the world zero good and may cost you dearly if it happens...

I’m not too concerned about the weight and preferred the faster cut. I won’t be using it a lot for climbing, but more for limbing or light work on the ground. Will do a little climbing with it so weight not a huge issue.

I was in need of saw and jumped ship. Bought a Stihl 194T new from Stihl dealer for $422.99 with 14” bar. I didn’t want to wait for Echo 15% sale in 5 months. This test also helped me go back to Stihl.

The thing thats cool about the HLA twin grapple is that its arm are “independent” so they grapple uneven and odd shaped objects better. You also can make use of them as a basic set of pallet forks

double arm Log grapple I have the single arm version and it’s the most versatile attachment I own.

All depends on you definition of “light/heavy” duty and what your needs are. I steer clear of unknown catchy names and always buy commercial/Ag grade stuff.

That little 2-4" piece is the loop that is cut off every time a bale is tied off. New Holland and John Deere are the ones that do it because they use the Deering style knotter. The McCormick knotter doesn’t leave any waste bits.

So here’s what broke. The twine finger on the back of the billhook. Fairly common, but only the 2nd one for me in 15 years. Here’s a brand new one. As big as a large square baler is, it’s got fragile parts in some places.

Well today I dug into knotter #2. Won’t tie. I must have spent 1/2 hour going through it and then I finally felt the back of the billhook and notice is was broken off. Tomorrow I will have to disassemble and replace it.

So Diamond C uses Lippert torsion axes, not Dexter. Dexter offers much longer warranty on their torsions (10 yr) versus spring axles (5 yr). Looks like Lippert is only 3 yr through Diamond C. Lippert’s website says 11 years torsion and 6 years spring.

My AGCO/Masseys have very easy hook up on PTO splines. They are chamfered to allow easy slide-on. Don’t know if smaller ones are like that. I know Kubota didn’t have that feature.

I’d take a hard look at Massey Ferguson. Sold by real AG dealers. Nice, heavy duty tractors with the farmer in mind.

I haven’t had any axle related issues at all with my Kaufman tandem spring axles. I have heard torsions are not well suited for bumpy fields, but I do drive very slow on them.

Many times we do use the “racetrack” method. If the field is rectangular, you do the headlands or end zones first. Then when you go lengthwise, you can “skip” rows so your turns aren’t so tight.

Yes but “commercial” can include vehicles under the CDL limits. A box truck or a school bus under 26K driver may still need a med card. At least that’s the way it was.

You have to get a med card if you are over 17,000 and in business in PA. You get a semi-annual doctors physical, just like the one I get for my CDL. They check vision, hearing, urine, and a bunch of other stuff. Mostly they want to check your urine for drugz

I’d take my Massey 7495 over a Kubota M 151/152 171/172, even though the Massey is a much older tractor.

No. While there has been some development, much of it still looks the same. The wealthy land owners are still in Radnor Hunt Country. Not like it was in the 70’s, but still a lot there.

The PA laws and CDL laws in general are desperate need of re-writing. Trucks, their safety, brakes, suspensions, etc. are so much improved from when those laws were written-probably in the 80’s.

You don’t need a CDL unless your truck has a GVWR of over 11,000. Look on your door jamb sticker again. I bet the GVWR is on there. If it’s over 11K, you need a CDL.
