Making Gator quieter

I thought maybe if enough people put him on ignore, that would quiet him down. Apparently, that's not what you meant. 🤐
Thread title said all I needed to know, the yanmar diesel is noisy but tolerable. But so are the chains that are on it all year round. Some things are just the way it is, and will never change.

I thought about replacing the muffler on my Mule, but never got around to it, and haven't thought about it until reading this thread. It would be nice if it was quieter, but the aftermarket mufflers that claim to be super quite are also super expensive.

The only Deere Gators I've driven were the 6 wheel military models. I never really found them loud, but that might just be me.*

My Kioti diesel UTV is hilariously loud, but IMO not enough for muffs or plugs.

I think a new muffler would help some of these, but IMO much of the noise is simple engine noise/placement with the engine not being shielded by a hood.

*I also spent over 28 years as an artilleryman so my perspective may be skewed.

On the Honda, as well as Polaris models I've been on, as well as the Yahama Wiking; the wind noise is a lot louder than the engine. Anything running 43-49mph down the road, wind noise, as well as tires, is gonna be pretty loud.

It's a 2011 Kawasaki 4010 TransMule. It's louder then I would want, but you can talk and be heard while driving.

Mine is a 2012 4010 and its pretty dang quiet. Compared to my friends razor and some chinese brands that run around here, its nearly silent. I even talk on my phone while puttering around on the thing.

The only time mine was obnoxious loud was when the muffler was rotted a few years back. There mighty proud of them mufflers for what it cost to replace.
