No, it can be anywheres the main power line is. For instance if the feed from the meter runs into house panel in garage, just hook it to the lined going from the meter into the garage panel. It need to hook up to any utility fed wire, that does NOT get powered up by a generator. In other worde...
Latency
Latency -- the amount of time it takes for data to travel from the server to your browser -- can slow down a website's load time even over a high speed connection. HTTP, the protocol used for websites, sends short bursts of data, which is why the round trip time affects the page load...
i just wonder, does the extended ping times make for a delay while using computers? during searches or opening new sites. my wireless system has ping time of about 10-15 ms, and sometimes that slows things down. my download speed is about 13 now, and upload about 4. with upgraded dish i no...
i ordered a universal tractor /lawn mower seat cover from ebay 3 years ago. fits great, wears great.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363251551382?hash=item54937acc96:g:v5sAAOSwFoFf-M1u
Our winter is probibly over here also, got louse 1/2” snow yesterday. Today its -6°F. Looking to warm up all next week. Wont take anything off tractor yet though….thats tempting fate. When i do remove everything, it will be time for full tractor maintenance.
I believe were done with snow here. Still have 2” ice on driveway and walkways, maybe 16-18” snow out back where sun doesnt reach, but rest of snow down to about 6”. Roof is nearly bare of snow.
when i moved to my current home 26 years ago, it was a 30 mile drive to town for parts. a person starts storing everything that may come in handy some day. gets to be quite the collection. i ended up installing pallet racking system to store it all, in addition to parts for my electrical...
Hopefully its not. One thing not worth replacing is rotor and stator set. If you can find one there way too expensive to blow on a 10 yr old machine. But it could be something as easy as brushes.
if they dont know anything about these units, he can purchase a diagnostic manual online. Very...
ive rewired all my rigs and i have never had any issues with electric brakes......on rental trailers with surge brakes, im less than enthused. i can feather breaking ability depending on the load with electric brakes.
actually, its more economical to run a 22kw generator at half power than to run a 16kw maxed out. it all depend on the load. summer load is far different than winter loads. i have had people complain about their generators shutting down under loads..but no one has complained to me about their...
actually, hooking up the 16 ckt switch is even easier in some cases than the whole house, as yo dont need to kill utility power or move service feeders. also, 14 kw will be hydraulic valves and use maybe 25% less gas flow.. or there abouts.
not starlink related,,,,, and,im not sure these were posted before or not, but its a youtube video with elon musk walking thru spacex facility. about 3 hours long...but amazing video.
I honestly dont understand how anyone shops on walmart online. I was looking for dentastix for my dog as costco was out. Costco sells 55 pack of large for $16.99, usually also on sale for $6 off of this price.
went to wallmart online. $49.70…..for 62 pack.
went to tractor supply, got a...
I had a Schlage keypad lock on my tackroom fail after 6 years. Has a lifetime warranty. I contacted them, they sent me a new one. No freight charge either
Its a similar item called a mixer assembly. Sits to the side of the motor. Has stepper motor attached to it. Cant see the inner workings, but they dont fall apart like some older units, that sat on top of the motor.
No, you can get a smaller generator and instead of installing a whole house switch, install the smaller 16 circuit switch. Place transfer switch next to house panel and move circuits that you want powered. Not everyone wants entire house backed up.
first off, i must say i used to install Generac units, and i still do service on them. The new series generac units are far and away superior to units 10 years or older…many major upgrades. I now solely offer generac air cooled service and i no longer install. That said, units serviced at least...
Doesnt matter who installs it….if its a deal with 7 or 10 year warranty, you still get warranty even if you purchase from home depot. Only catch is, if its installed incorrectly and that causes failure, its on your dime.
i have to do full service on my tractor this spring, after i remove all snow equipment. going to remove loader and clean all piviot points on it again. all greasy and filthy again.
Upon doing more research, i find out starlink antenna needs so much coear sky and even a single tree will degrade it. Is there an app that can check if i have enough visible sky? I have lots of trees. Id loke to know before i commit to purchasing.
it appears to have a phase arrey type of...
I order lots of stuff from amazon, and have had amazon prime for many years. Always pays for itself. We also watch amazon prime streaming alot.
but, if they keep raising prices like there doing, i may cancel soon. Dont care if its for their movies and shows there producing. Enough already.
I have always done my own maintenance, except when front seal went out on axle. The dealer quoted me a price to replace both side at such a good price, wasnt worth my time to mess with.
I personally hate icy, twisting driveways. One think i love on my place is flat access roads. Our neighbor has a hill to climb to house…..gets real slippery when snow melts and freeze follows. This yeaar the ambulance had to chain up to get to house.
I have no problem with that. I worked for years to pay off my college loans, but i paid them off. By all means, lets just say, dont honor your words. You agreed to pay back loan. Do it.
why should i pay their loan off.
lot to learn about these drones. i only learned today that the batteries self deenergize if left unused for 9 days to extend their life. i was wondering why the batteries were all at 50% after charging them last month. i dont use it much in the cold winter.
luckily, i dont have to deal with drifting snow. the trees block the wind. there are a few roads on our association that get drifted so bad you cant tell where the road is. but i let someone else worry about that.
mind you, i didnt build this. i purchased it.
there are a few holes in the blade and in the swings with a bar that swaps between the set of holes. one set holds it open. one set holds it closed.
Mine is read from some office. I actually called in one time and had them tell me what they are seeing, while i had a clamp on meter hooked up. The homeowner was complaining about high power use he wasnt using…
their readings matched mine…he was using it. Some old freezers and refrig units in...
I can relate. When i first signed up to hughnet speeds were great. Then over time it kept getting slower and slower. Soon, why not just use dialup.
i wonder if starlink is limiting uses during beta to keep numbers (speeds) high for publication. But i may just be talking outof my butt.
i never had a chute deflector on my old blower, but did have hydraulic rotator. that combo worked ok for 14 years. my new setup has both hydraulic rotate and hydraulic deflector. its amazing on how many times i use both. when you want to pile snow in a specific spot, like when going down my...
when the govt is subsidizing alot of the cost, they can get fiber out to a hub in rural areas and finish runs to houses over old copper phone wire. they are doing that out my way. you dont get the full benefits of solid fiber, but its alot better, and cheaper, than cable.
I ended up signing up for starlink, sending a deposit, 2 months ago, as my wireless internet sucked (between 0.7 - 2.0 mbps speeds and constant clocking). Starlink says my area is loaded, probibly wont get starlink until 2023 or later.
Ziply fiber has been promising fiber for months……i dont...
i use steering brakes, and i think i can manuver better than i did with a 3 point blower. i can also raise it up over gate height to make tight spots easier to get thru. i do have chains though, as i also use a front plow. plowing on ice without chains is a fools errand.
I ran my air2s three times in the cold snow….
but the last time the gimbal camera froze up..
Landed just fine, but camera froze. Now i wont fly it when its 15° out again.
Out here, when they say be prepaired for an inch, well get 10”. When they say were going ti be slammed by 10”, we get 1/4”.
and they still keep their jobs.
thats weird. i used to own an 870, it was a clutch model with mechanical 4x4. i believe its all geared, no hydraulics involved.....but its been 10 years and i dont recall all details on the 4x4 system.
Someone once left an old 70s era trailer off the road at the intersection by our place. Sat there for several weeks until county hauled it. I sure hope they were able to find registered owner of that nightmare, but never heard of outcome.
they left plates on it, shouldnt have been too hard, but...
i remember a few years ago, i drove 40 min to town to dump my dump trailer, and gates were locked. a sign was up stating there closed for employee appreciation day. our dumps advertise there open 7 days a week. i always check online nowdays before i travel there just to make sure it doesnt...
I had my hydraulic shop make up a replacement air hose for my self winding 50 foot shop air system. Used all USA manufactured parts, and was cheaper than Home depot chinese junk.
i have them run all my hydraulic hoses.
Some areas here in idaho require a concrete underground tank if there are no fire hydrant nearby. Cost $$$, funny thing is the fire dept doesnt want to hook into them because they dont know condition of water supply, and afraid it will hurt their rigs. Typical govt garbage.
we have hydrants nearby.
Heres the parts

should be the proper parts. You didnt state year of tractor
Sorry, gotta call BS.
I have met some crappy inspectors over the 30 + years in construction industry, but most have been very sharp individuals. Alot of them were highly qualified in their field before becoming injured, or simply broken down from years in the trades. To make a blanket statement...
Place the voltage tester on the battery and watch the valuse on the battery voltage when cycling glow plugs. If battery voltage also drops into the 7s, that would explain whats happening.
Mine still fogs up when first turning on heat…has for 10 years. My ac drains just fine. I can see the puddle on ground at end of hose in summer. I leave side vent open for first 15-20 min and it wont fog up again. I also leave the a/c button on for first half hour or so.
You need to get the battery load tested. I just replaced the battery on my DK45 for almost the same problrm. Tracyor turned over, but glow plugs not getting juice. I load tested the 900 cca battery, it tested at 380.
i replaced battery and its back to its old self. Fires up great.
go to transunion site and sign up for their app. I believe its 6.99/month. Texts if anyone tries to access or open my accounts.
ive been using them for 5-6 years. Instant credit checks whenever i want. I can lock and unlock all 3 credit systems on their app without talking to any one.
My mother had the same scams pulled on her when she was alive. all traced back to facebook. Luckily my sister intervened and stopped payments. We got facebook removed from her computer, never had another issue.
id be doa here without chains. out driveway and all surrounding roads are 2"+ of solid ice. rain due again in a few days. Even my side by side struggles to move.
but here is the parts list for quick attach (same as erskin as far as i can tell) powerpack . it shows parts breakdown.
https://parts.quickattach.com/collections/power-pack%E2%84%A2-hydraulic-power-unit-900900-900901-900902
my original pump looked just like yours..heres an old pic. it had 3 hoses running into it. the new one only has 2 hoses.
they replaced entire pump system (including gear assembly). new one was at least 2x heavier than original,. no aluminum in new system.
ill go see if i can see any number. i...
All i know is when i purchased my unit new in 2010, the original pto pump failed after 2 years use. It leaked like a sieve. I contacted quick attach and they told me they had issues with the pumps from my series and if i shipped the old one back on their dime, they would send me the updated...
The steering issue may need chains to fix. I chain up all 4 tires on my tractor so i can use plow anyways.
not sure on problem with your pressures. Mine pumps at about 3,000 psi, 15 gpm. It will bog a bit with real wet snow, but hardly ever jambs with snow. And throws snow very far.
there is...
i never did anything with my masters degree......was a useless waste of time, but kept me from eating too much. after getting into electrical trade i have NEVER been out of work.
his pics show a 200 amp main on house with a sub distribution panel. ive installed lots of these same panels. not my favorite panel by a longshot, especially if you add an automatic backup transfer switch, as the additional circuits dont get included in backup unless special transfer switch is...
Seatbelts…..we dont need no stinkin seatbelts.
i remember my family trips in the station wagon. All the kids stuffed into the back to joyfully go bouncing around.
A subpanel within the same residence is not required to have a main breaker, however a main breaker panel is generally cheaper, at wholesale prices, than a main lug panel mainly due to the fact there are more produced and stocked. When i used to order parts for large house jobs with multiple...
Yes, they make interlock for that
https://www.geninterlock.com/interlock-kits/eaton/
there is nothing old looking in those pics. Millions of homes have 200amp subpanels indoors with a meter main outside. There sold and installed today.
honda inverters are super quiet, but also limited in output power (i believe 7,000 watts, but i may be wrong there) and they are not auto start. i really cant believe how quiet they are. but they cost almost the same as a generac 22,000 watt unit.
i have quite a few customers that are disabled...
problem is, in most areas work has been so strong, the good contractors are buried and not taking on more work. the crappy guys are the ones looking for work....there the ones you find
no standby generator that is in the size to handle an entire house is quiet, unless you go to a liquid cooled unit. a liquid cooled 22kw generac is pretty dang quiet compared to an air cooled 22 kw, but its also about $6k more.
theres a long delay in even getting generators right now...
My fence corners have always been 3 - 6x6 posts, 8 feet long set about 6 feet apart to make up the angle. I notch these About 6” from the top, and insert brace. Then an X made out of barbless wire. Then i twist the X as tight as possible.
i learned this method many moons ago. My fences at my...
I had an 870 tractor, and it was only 28 hp as i recall. If it has power steering, it had 12 gpm flow. But the extra 4 gpm was used for power steering. I guess by upgrading pump from a power steering version to a manual steering rig it would bump up the flow, but not sure if it would fit…or if...
Because steel has gone absolutely nuts. The supply house wants $750.00 for a 4”x4” x 10’ long gate post 1/4” thick steel.
when i built a fence about 3 years ago that same post was under $200.00
Portable generator batteries tend to be dead when needed, unless the gen came with a 120v charger, or you keep battery on a trickle charger. Standby units use a standard lead acid car style battery, and the generator charge system keeps it nicely topped off. you can use agm style batteries on...
A gas generator converted to propane will output less power. The total drop in available amperage should be in the paperwork or online somewheres.
personally, i like propane power over gas for several reasons. Propane doesnt degrade in storage, plugs stay way cleaner running on propane, safer...
mine is covered under my commercial business policy. It is covered by inland marine, and didnt increase my existing policy much…..probably 20-25 bucks per month. But i use my tractor off of my property. It covers trailering, all implements, theft, fire, everything. $250 deductible.
I really dont know. But without the 6 “ extension i could not use the pump. Im going to try and make a rectangular tube support that will slip over the drawbar and slide the entire unit onto the pto. Hopefully this will also make installation easier also, because as it stands now the pump always...
And that pump must be approaching 80#. Its a monster to install. I have to add a pto extension on mine due to the way the drawbar is attached on the kioti.
I know i wont get around to it until snow season is over. I. Probibly going to have to disassemble the hose connections on pump and remove tank to be able to mess with it easily. There sure isnt much room to fiddle with stuff when hoses are hooked up.
Mine has a bracket that supports the pump weight on the drawbar, not the pto shaft. I just dont like the vibrating pump. Im going to fab up a sleve that will slide unto the drawbar for additional support.
I wonder how much their prices have increased. I wanted to buy a 5”x5” x 8 foot steel post, 1/4” thick. What used to cost maybe $150 A few years ago, today they wanted $640.00
i left without buying it. I’ll do that project next year.
Personally i never use barbed wire anywheres there are horses. Those damn animals seak ot out so they can cut themselves.
they will also find any screw or nail that is sticking out a bit too far.
A whole house unit is way way quieter than a portable producing 1/2 the power of the standby.
actually my 6500watt portable is noisier than my 22 kw standby. I can hardly stand being next to the portable when its operating. I can carry a conversation next to the 22
Generac suggests you check oil every 24 hours during an extended power outage. i can attest that hardly any owners of the generators that i work on do that. i bet most dont even know they have oil.
i serviced a bunch of units after a 4-5 day outage recently. none were shut down during outage. i...
https://github.com/jgyates/genmon
its a raspberry pi based device….way way better than generacs wifi unit.
gives real time data on generator. It also pushes thru text or email instantaneous when a change of state happens with the generator.
I installed lots of smaller auto start generators that operate a 8,10,12,16 or 24 space panel, depending on size of generator. Although most, and i mean 80-90%, of the units i service are whole house units, not the partial house systems.
i have a whole house i put in 4 years ago. Replaced a...
i have a 2010 DK45 cab unit, and when i first purchased it i asked Kioti corporate about chaining up all 4 wheels, and they said no problem. my dealer also said no problem. been doing that for 11 years, no problem.
the DK series is a very stout machine.
38f today, and rain. all buildings shed snow. my carriage barn shed last. it had 18-24" on roof, ended up a dense, wet mush pack. wasnt sure i would be able to blow it, but it only took 14 minutes to clear the mess.....i timed it.

728988
728989
728990

it takes about 2 hours to totally mount the blower every winter, what with unpacking, routing hoses and controls. but swapping out to plow or bucket only takes minutes.
plus, it move alot of snow fast. tonight my carriage barn shed. i had between 18-24" of snow on building. hard to tell by the...
If your talking standby generator, you might be looking for 50+ weeks after order to get it unless the supplier happens to have some on hand from previous order.
Im confused, dont they sell a winter blend of diesel in your areas? About october nere, they switch to winter blend. In 28 years i have never had gelling issues. Dont use any additives. Have 2 diesel trucks and thru 2 diesel tractors .
Mine steam up windows when first starting up moving or blowing snow. I crack 1 window and press a/c button on while setting temp on highest heat. After all fogging is gone, i can close window and turn off ac compressor, and fog never returns. Been like that for 10 years now.
If you have propane, and only a single water heater hooked to it, you may not even need a new regulator. Your propane company can determine how many btu that regulator can handle. If i am not mistaking, you have propane, so i really doubt youll need to trench back to tank.
You may not need a larger underground pipe from tank. You might just need to tee off before existing house secondary regulator and add another regulator for generator. But you need to have your propane supplier or heating contractor look at setup. They need complete list of all gas appliances...
duty cycle...whats that...hehe
actually, im probably driving to a place to blow as much as im blowing snow so im probably at the 50-60% duty cycle on average.
but i seriously never pay attention to that. i kept an eye on heat for first few years, than stopped worrying about that. it never got...
here in north idaho, the propane companies will come and inspect the existing hookup and determine what , if anything, needs to be upgraded. they dont charge for inspection. your area may be the same.
Are you sure about the btu for that generator???
Depends on the size of the generator, but i have never seen one as small as 46,000 btu. Most modern larger units take between 225,000-325,000 btu.
ive been installing backup generators for many years, we ALWAYS ran a home run to main propane tank...
Reminds me of the old joke about asking an old farmer for directions to the highway…..
well, continue down the road for a bit until you get to the spot where the old school used to be, then turn right in a bit……
And yes, that pump sucks to install. An it vibrates some while in use. I was going to make up some sort of mounting bracket on mine to facilitate install and prevent vibration….. if i ever get some time.
Ive used mine for 10 years without the cooler. I used an ir heat gun first 3 years, never had any issues with heat.
then again our temps are very cold in winter when in use. Ill even get snow buildup on top of tank while using it …. Snow does melt off, but not fast.
I used an old fashion … 30 year old…. Transit level to do my fence line. And its 1280’ between pins. When i finished, i was about 2” off of far pin. Good enough for me. My problem was the land wasnt level, and is treed. I had to set it up and swing a 180 from street pins and start cutting trees...
the 400 amp generac switch has a single 400 amp rated switch, at least the ones i installed years ago. They were so damn expensive, hardly anyone uses it UNLESS you have a generator that outputs greater than 200 amps, than you cant use a 200 amp or double 200’s. In this case, you HAVE to use the...
Do you have a 400 amp main panel, or a 400 amp meter with 2 main breakers? Reason i ask is because 2 - 200 amp transfer switches are WAY cheaper than any 400 amp transfer switch. I have loads of 400 amp houses running twin 200 amp switches. But never on less than a 22 kw unit. Most houses...
We run up to 7 residential houses on a single transformer, but it depends on the distance between houses. Most rural houses are spread too far apart to share the transformers.
Its been snowing heavily here since 2 am. Will have to wait till sunrise to see extent. I had some generator service jobs set for today….guess I’ll postpone those till next week. There not anything too bad, just service. I think ill be moving snow today.
will be a good day to finish building...
Did you pipe your exhaust to the outside? Nice setup.
and yes, shovel the intake areas especially on generators, even the rear alternator intake, and keep the vent on propane regulator clear. I have had to replace engines on generators that run while covered in snow. The exhaust side tend to...
Had the same issue years ago. Ran put of places to push snow. Thats when i purchased my first snowblower. A rear 3 point model for my old JD870.
my current blower moves it 40+ feet away. Never run out op places to push it. Have over 24” sticking, 2 more today and there predicting heavy 8-12”...
I use them for my parts and service. Very good crew of people there. They service TYM and Kioti.
prices on parts not much different they shopping amazon, and at least at his shop i know parts are genuine.
Amazon sells alot of new, knock off (fake) stuff …. Reminds me of the old add for real, old fashion lemonade….that contains no real lemons.
and, also, amazon does sell used stuff. I just purchased some used breakers from Amazon last week.mind you there probably 3rd party and dont ship thru...
for the generators i service, i order 90 filters at a time thru Generac. i get them cheaper than i could get a fram filter for. and since there factory specs, i never have any warranty issues. i also order spark plugs 100 at a time. and air filters 100 at a time. great savings.
but i cant do...
I believe they nixed this. As far as i know they wont be doing this. But i claim everything i sell as this is part of my business, so even if they do i could care less.
my customers seem to prefer using a credit card, and i dont have to bother going into town to deposit the checks.
Ive used paypal for so many years i cant remember when i started. I use paypal here app to get paid by customers also. I would do transactions for $15,000 and never had a problem using it. Customers like getting flight miles and my prices were increased accross the board to cover finance...
