    Lowering the lawn

That's at least 1800 square feet of concrete, maybe more.

    Lowering the lawn

We have a 30,000 square ft. lawn surround and divided by a concrete path. The lawn is about 2 inches higher than the cement so every time it rains, the pathways get submerged and muddy. What would you use to remove 2 inches of dirt? I've thought about a scraper, but maybe there is something better.

    KY Missing Tractor

Just saw this article stolen JD 5083E found in Kentucky. Thought I would post it in case somebody recognizes it.

    New GPS

For several years I have been used an older TomTom one, which works fine, but has one limitation. Often I need to find the location of a business or other item, I'll look under Point of Interests and ocassionally the right place will pop up, but often it will say, nothing found. Do more modern...

    Gas cap for TO 35

Can you crack the cap a little? This is the one we have on our TO-30. Maybe you can drill a hole in the top?

Will a tiller pull rocks up out of soil?

If you are loading the dirt in a bucket, you could get or fabricate a grate that you could attach to the front of the bucket. It also might work to disc first and then rake. If you are real serious about it, you could get something like this.

    Septic Tank Access

Over the last week or so, I've been trying to find out septic tank, and finally found it, but am not too thrilled with the way it was covered. It looks like they got two 55 steel drums, removed the top and bottom and placed them over the lid and then back-filled the area around the drum and...

    Low Power in Transport gear

I have noticed for a while that our little Shibaura tractor almost stalls going up a incline in the highest gear range. On level ground it runs fine, but once it goes up the hill, the bottom drops out of the tac. Any thoughts? We recently changed the fuel filter, but that didn't make any difference.

    Rock Guard

This year I got tired of getting hit in the back/legs with rocks the the bushhog throws back at the operator, so I decided to try to make a rock guard for our Fergie to-30. I am thinking of making a frame that would bolt onto the holes in the rear axle out of square tubing with the cross braces...

    PTO Leak

So I pulled the pto plate off and discovered that not only was the seal bad, but there were two chips out of the pto shaft, which shredded the inside of the seal. Will it work to emry cloth and smooth out the chips, or is it a bigger problem?

    PTO Leak

After several years of only have a box scraper on our SD 1642, I hooked up out 4' kubota brushhog and after using it for about 10 minutes I noticed oil leaking from the PTO shaft. Any thoughts?

    Arc Welder Breaker

If it wasn't for the distance between us, I'd swear the same guy installed both. The guy that installed ours piggy-backed off the main lugs 400 amp, but didn't run the same size wire to the sub-panel. I just double checked, and the wire is #8, not #6, so I guess I'll pop a 40 in there. The...

    Arc Welder Breaker

I would love to, but it's a little big for me to do and the cost of getting it replaced is stoping us, but if you want to stop by and take care of it, let me know.:-)

    Arc Welder Breaker

I was just given a Lincoln AC225, and was trying to figure out what size breaker I need to install.

    TO-30 inner axle seal

Last year I noticed our '54 To-30 wasn't braking well, and I discovered that the left rear axle seal went bad, so over the summer I pulled the axles and replaced both the left and the right seals. Then yesterday, I while mowing, I noticed the brake pedal didn't work to well, so when I finished...

    Truck Lumber Rack

When I was looking around, I found an old piece of gym equipment that had a steel tube, so I'll see how it does. Right now just u-bolts, but I might go with pins later. Thanks for the recommendation s.

    Question about digging with backhoes

How narrow a hole can you dig with a backhoe? Somebody needs soil samples at 10 ft on some of a property and were thinking about bringing in a backhoe to dig the holes. How wide a hole are we talking about?

Low Coolant light - the darnest thing

My every day driving vehicle is an 2004 Impala and for the past several years the low coolant light would intermittently go on, so last month I replaced the sensor, hoping that it would fix the problem, but no luck. Then the other day I noticed the overflow tank hose was spiting a little water...

This is what is there right now. You would say 1.25" for the missing back bar?

    Truck Lumber Rack

Several years ago, we bought and 89 F250 with a lumber rack. After not having a back bar and trying to make due, I think its time to bite the bullet and buy or make one. Any ideas for the diameter/ thickness of the tube?

Digging out footing - mini-ex or backhoe

We are getting ready to dig out our footing for a 30' wall we are building. The footing needs to be 3' wide and 18" deep and is in pretty rocky soil. Would it make more sense to rent mini-excavator or a backhoe?

    Flail Mower for TO-30

We have used an Alamo AM 5000 for the last 10 years or so, but recently there has been a push for a flail mower, mostly for safety reasons. Yesterday I visited the local tractor dealer (Kubota) and the boy working there said that he did not think the PTO shaft turned enough RPMs at a slow enough...

    Shibaura SD 1643 starting trouble

Here is a pic of the starter. How would I go about testing the solenoid? When I listened again, it almost sounds like the starter is spinning, but not engaging the flywheel like it has a bad gear.

    Shibaura SD 1643 starting trouble

We bought this little tractor about 10 years ago as a reman. Apparently the tractor is over 40 years old. Unfortunately the decal (SL1643) doesn't match to stamp on the block (SD 1643). Anyway I am guessing the stamp is more accurate. The other day when I was trying to start it after...
