Absolutely! I was 13 years before I ever saw a TV; it was from outside, too...it was in a bar and I couldn't go in. It just so happens, Hoppalong Cassidy was on! Radio was indeed our escape; I can still visualize the Lone Ranger, the Inner Sanctum, Life with Luigi, The Buster Brown Gang...

I've cooked for 50 or 60, and you still need about the same basic equipment. Instead of the BGE by itself, I also have a Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker, and I have to use both of them. What I needed extra, was big serving pans, a couple coolers for transportation, and lots of help! And don't...

I had a very near and dear friend who lived next door to me for 17 years. He had an old tree in his back yard, that had died, and mentioned that he was going to have it taken down. He had a bad back so he couldn't do it himself. I walked over one nice day, with my chain saw, and cut it down...

I just use a large paring knife for ribs, but it needs to be sharp. Other than that, I have a set of scissor tongs for almost everything I put on the grill or smoker, and for hamburgers I have a scissor tongs with a spatula on one side. I also have, a grate lifter, a Weber chimney, a wire...

Here's a table I built a few years ago to hold my Big Green Egg. Am I the only guy to kill black snakes via sliding shed door?

When I was in high school, my Dad was Superintendent of a sand dredge, and since the sand was shipped by rail, it was on a RR side track. It was very rural, and our house was near by. I have seen quite a few rattle snakes; half on one side of a track, half on the other. Yeah, we had to be...
