I have one that's not an Ironcraft. Bought it from a farm equipment auction new for $1200. Got a 12", 6" and 24" auger with it. After buying a SS adapter and fabbing up a mounting plate it works great. I was at an auction last Saturday and they had 3 of them on it. No idea what they brought.

Typically, you depreciate a piece of farm equipment over a designated period of time so that once it is completely depreciated you can replace it with new. I depreciate everything over 5 years, buildings, tractors, trucks and equipment. Once it is depreciated, it is a dead expense.

I'm guessing the tractor is sitting in one spot for a while(days) and the tires are flat spotting. When this happens it takes 30 mins or so of driving to get the flat spots out. Until that happens it will beat you to death. Most non-radial tractor tires will do this. I know mine do.

Royal Purple oil and grease is used in probably 90% of all the motors and gearboxes in all power plants in the US. I've seen some amazing tests that were actually performed on the equipment in our plant. I've been using it in my vehicles and farm equipment since '96.

All of the zero turns I've ever owned have had mulch kits, not just mulching blades. All of them will mulch large amounts of leaves in one pass. Pretty amazing to me.

My cousin has a road maintenance mowing service that does highway grass cutting for the state. He has literally tried all the brands and he says the JD 15 foot cutters hold up the best of any of them. All of them wear out after a while. He has a graveyard of them at his equipment shed.

If you install and remove the loader a lot like I do the 6 way Faster single point connector is worth it's weight. I have third function with the bucket grapple and the 84" bucket.

On my 5 series I assumed it controlled a air damper that would blend warm outside air but I don't know that for certain. I know it uses outside air at some point because I have to clean the filters quite often. If it was recirc only it wouldn't need hose filters.

Mine is new and as quiet as any I've ever been in.

Mine is as quiet as my truck. After years of operating an open station tractor the transition to a cab really makes me have to pay attention much more so I can hear things that may be going wrong. I actually wear my hearing aids when I'm running my tractor.

You need a meter that will read in milliamps. I'm surprised yours won't.

I suppose it's just what you get used to. I've had front deck mowers from Yazoo to F series. I like the ability to get close to edges with a front deck but for me a ZT is more maneuverable. Those tricycle Yazoo's would put your butt on the ground.

Mine has a built in jack system that you can jack the entire front of the mower in the air for easier access that the deck lift ones. I just pull my 3 in the door of the shop and lift the front with the electric chain hoist.

I have to use mine quite a bit as well. The cool thing about this saw is if you get a pinch you just reverse the chain direction and it will clear it. I don't cut much big stuff with the Stihl handheld.

Unless I needed that tractor really badly there is no way I would take an engine rebuild in lieu of a new engine.

I ran my 5310 for over 10 years with it disconnected. It connects to the stud on the fuel shutoff solenoid on the injector pump. I took mine loose there and taped it up. It was like that when I sold it and I'm sure it still is.

I'm guessing when they thought of hour meters they didn't expect us to leave the key on for a week. I've done it. Result...dead battery. Most of us don't give much credence to hour meters.

Are you subsoiling this to plant on top of the subsoiler furrows? If so what are you planting with? That spacing will determine the spacing of your contraption.

No, there are forward and reverse rotation blades. My Hydraslide Hardee ditchbank cutter has blades sharpened on both sides. You can reverse the cut by swapping the hoses on the pump. You can buy the sharpened on either side or both sides.

Link belts are like those donut tires you see everyone running around on. If I'm doing it I'll be stranded in 30 mins. Anyone else can run them forever with no issue.

What defines antique in farm equipment I guess is what I'm not certain of. That thing was probably manufactured in my lifetime and I'm not quite ready to call that antique at this point.

I have a 10' Maschio with hydraulic slide. If you get one of these you best have a grown up tractor to put it behind. They are heavy.

Good grief. You could buy something like that on a farm sale around here for a few hundred bucks. You have no idea if anything works or what's broken until you get it home. Now if they hook it up and prove everything works, it might bring 1500 bucks.
