A rental hoe or excavator would do a quick job of removing those old stumps. Choose whichever is cheapest... myself I prefer the backhoe. Just because you should never underestimate the value of overkill.

If a tractor is the only machine available then clamp on forks are the best way to fork something without forking over a lot of cash. The over the bucket forks are stronger but they both offer the operator no view of the forks... zero visibility so it's no more than a guess when you go to pick...

I stepped up to a larger steel tank. This Weatherguard tank is 106 gallons. I'll use my same pump and filter from the plastic barrel. I welded 2 pieces of 2x6 heavy wall tube under the tank. So it will be easy to just fork this tank on and off the truck for trips to the fuel depot. Cool :cool:

If you mean the bucket goes down when you push the control arm up that is the way it is supposed to be. Bucket goes up when you pull the lever back or down - that is correct.

One I use mostly has a a half circle of spring steel with a hook. And the other half is a bike chain. It's always the right size. Never slips. And small enough to get in tight places. Did a quick search & couldn't find it but I saw a few full chain wrenches that should work on whatever you have.

The up position is 4wd indicated by the closed link. There is another foot lever on my model that locks the rear differential so there is no spin in the rear when stepping on that lever.

The manual states to not use 4wd anytime 2wd will do. If you need 4wd to get into the pile then that is fine. The wheels should not be slipping when filling the bucket. It they are you are not loading the bucket correctly or your pile is too solid and needs some breaking up before trying to...

If welded or twisted wire fence it will reinforce the concrete. I imagine you will have control or expansion joints in the such a large floor. We often used 6x6x10g wire panels in the floors. One purpose is to prevent movement at naturally occurring cracks.
