I am looking at this old flail mower, the seller doesn't know what brand it is though. It's 8' wide with Y-shaped blades and 540 PTO. I'm looking to use it to cut grass along the driveway and mow gardens at the end of the season. I've got Ford 5610 so I won't have a problem powering it. Anyone know what the brand or model is?

Both Woods and Taylor-Way used a similar yellow on some if their equipment. I don't know that either sold a flail mower.

Old machine with a single belt. Unknown brand. No offset. Looks like it has seen plenty of use. Might need some bearings and cutters. You know it's rusted up, if not out. Kept like that in KY.
Just thinking out loud...

Alamo or Mott? Leonz on the Flailnation thread will know & may even have a manual.

It looks like a very old Mott interstater.

It might be a fun winter project but the
issue is the condition of flail mower rotor
and the flail mower rotor bearings.

I wouldn't get hung up on what the brand is. You'll find out one day ordering parts. I had an old one like that and it worked just fine. Looked just as fine as that one.

He just raised the price from 1200 to 1500, I don't want it that bad, I'll pass.

Spend your good money on a VRSIMO flail mower for your mule and you will be
able to use it on the next larger mule you buy.

I would have to LOL his a**. Why the heck would he raise the price on that thing. Don't leave him your number. He'll likely be calling you back. Then you can offer him $800.

I got mine back in 2008 at an auction for $35. I was the only bidder, but I don't think anyone knew what it was. Flail mowers are pretty rare in these parts. I like it and I'm still using it as it was except for one roller bearing and maybe about 5-6 knives. Mine uses the flat spoon knives and it cuts better than any yard mower. And fast too.
