I have the summit manual lever operated multiplier on my 4150. they sent me everything needed to make an easy install including sust caps. No complaints Works great can flip the lever from drivers seat. Did have to fabricate a place to mount it.

Not saying hard coated poly is better than glass but I'm going on 6 pretty hard years on it and still very usable and it's half the price of glass.thpugh I will say definitively hard coated poly is way better than plexiglass or any other acrylic sheet.

If I had bad luck with hardcoated polycarbonate. glass would be my first choice for replacement.

I'm going on 6yrs on my hardcoated pioneer windshield still very usable and it's constantly driven around low hanging branches. I don't know the name of it off hand but I use a acrylic/ poly carbonate cleaner made by rain x and microfiber cloth or sometimes I'll just rinse it off with water.

And that is why at times I like full airflow, hence a flip up windshield on my wolverine, I love being outdoors exploring the woods in a sxs until it's 40 degrees and I'm in a downpour.

From experience make sure it's hardcoated polycarbonate imo. on our wolverine X4 it's aftermarket and personally I like it a lot better than the OEM one on our pioneer 500.

Depending what kind of windshield you get underhood storage is hard to access in my experience, and my windshield was a flip up hardcoated Honda OEM. Ended up taking front storage box out.

Had similar problem in my l2850 5+ yrs ago most of the bevel gear teeth were sheared off and the rest were worn down to little nubs. Hardest part of the repair for me was finding a new bevel gear, pretty straight forward repair if you own decent snap ring pliers.

A kit like this helped me with hard to reach fittings.

If you don't like greasing equipment get a cordless grease gun it will cut your pm greasing by 75% helps open clogged grease fittings I use 3-5%molly for loader pins, and I guarantee you'll wonder why you didn't get one before imho.

Knipex brand snap ring pliers are good and we're reasonably priced. They saved my knuckles and prevented 4 letter words countless times.

My 6.6 Duramax with a turbo came with a wind blocker I keep it on from dec-march never a problem since 2016. The truck heats up faster/ but never overheats, seems to run better when it's real cold and surprisingly I get better fuel mileage.

Bits made with Cobalt work great for metal work. They are however more brittle imo.

In the UP anyway once in a while you might run across a "camp beater" oversized rear tires, tire chains, 2wd, with a plow, about a pallet of CMU and any other junk one can find in the bed. So It must work good enough plowing a two track. These trucks never leave the woods.

Couple questions, has anyone ever seen or operated a railroad rotary blower (besides YouTube) for snow removal? Are they still used?

Somewhere I have an old photo (before smartphones and digital cameras) of using a walk behind 2 stage snow blower to clear off my folks roof in the UP My dad drove it up on the roof using a huge snowdrift.

You know you live in a snowbelt when the banks are at the bottoms of street signs half way thru winter. And you see equipment like this going down the road.

My $.02 if you have to buy used parts the 3750 and 4150 use the same parts on most of the transmission/ and all of the hydraulic shuttle components. Maybe try a search of the 3750 dt hydraulic shuttle clutch/ trans slipping? It's a great tractor when you get it figured out.

Personally imho I think there are no magic attachments for any tractor to do more than ones capabilities, experience helps allowing you to do more than others on a smaller tractor. I've been humbled a few times buying attachments thinking they'd be the magic unicorn I needed. It eventually came...

Also the most expensive probably. requiring some experience on one. There's a reason why skid steer mulchers aren't cheap and readily available for rentals.

There's a whole thread on using straight shaft brush cutters/ pole saws for clearing brush and overgrowth learned a few things following it btw.

Sounds like a 3pt chipper might be handy imo you can spread the chips for ground cover to help mitigate erosion especially if you can't burn. It is a lot of hard work for a one man operation and I don't recommend running vines or stumps through it.

off topic, but curious Is that a RUT forestry mulcher? What's the specs on a yanmar V10 mini? weight and aux hydro flow. Finally how does the Mulcher work on it?

Mostly sand on side streets probably due to low temps/ cost and the fact if you were born up there your better at driving on snow and ice than other folks imo. they use salt on main highways like us 2, 41, M28 etc. Roads can be snow covered continuously from December-March some years.

ok, this one has gone on awhile I'm barely a backyard shade tree automotive "mechanic" but every gasoline fuel pump I've replaced involved me dropping the fuel tank and its located in the tank. If you don't notice its empty when you drop it and open it up, I don't know what to say. :eek:

Here's my 22x24 move it's also 14' high. prep, bracing with scrap steel angle iron, a welder, a couple wafer cutting wheels, a floor jack, a skid steer a tractor and luck.

How far are planning to move it? I moved an old commercial grade green house about 150 feet off the side of my pole barn, it was originally on a slab I left it up when I moved it , but did do a bit of prep and reinforcement. It makes a great 24' deep 3 sided storage building.

The algoma mill is above the locks I believe. I remember talking to a local old-timer , funny story Sault MI didn't want the mill built in Mi because of air pollution etc. Sault Canada did want the mill and everytime there's a north wind the smoke and dust blows over to Sault Mi.

My John Deere skid steer flat face couplers came from the factory with Parker Hannafin in my experience they are good and I've had to replace cheaper brand flat face couplers on the attachments but not the skid steer. As mentioned they can be a pia to release though.

In my case I noticed if I try to turn in the soft sand the front tires will sometimes push sand and I'll continue going straight digging ruts. In 4wd I turn the wheel, the tractor rides up on the sand causing minimal ruts.

What I was trying to say using a implement on the three point only adds to the importance of 4wd in my case and doesn't add anything to traction when I'm using it. Maybe Instead of engaging 4wd when you need it leave it in 4wd all the time it might help with your rut problems.
