I also use NEW motor oil and enough diesel fuel to make it come out of my pump sprayer. I have never replaced a trailer deck. I apply it every spring. I use the cheapest motor oil I can find.

Also, fuel systems are expensive...it's the one thing to constanly monitor on high pressure fuel delivery systems. I will die on the hill that HEUI is the best fuel system. It's not fragile and can supply enough fuel for any lite duty truck. Common rail is nice and clean, but damn is it fragile.

You need to get a reading of what your fuel pressure is doing. Is it dropping off under load or is the regulator going bad? I'm not real sure if Dmax have a fuel pressure sensor, but they are not hard to add. You need to see in real time what your fuel is doing. That could point to a lift...

if the problem is the same, then as long you address the proper solution, the outcome will be the same. The solution for ford was to keep the better pump and revise the fuel filter to catch more water and replace at shorter intervals. Same outcome.

go dump a cup of water in your tank with the cp3 and lets review in a month. both have the same inherent problem.

again...it root cause is water in the fuel. It's been a thing since 2011 for all three that run the cp3/cp4.

My understanding is the CP4 is highly sensitive to water in the fuel, where the CP3 is not as sensitive. However, they're both extremely sensitive in contrast prior methods of providing fuel to the motor.

Ok lets assume your 10 amps figure is correct. Do yo think putting 10 amps into a boost pack in place a battery is smart. It almost seem like your advocating for that.

I'm sure Project farm did it to prove a point, but he had to disconnect the alternator to make it safe. Otherwise, you're pumping 100amps into the jump pack.

It will be able to start the engine since the boost pack is sensing it's own power. But you should not leave it in place of the battery. You just have to hope the ECU dosen't run off of battery power instead of alternator power.

It a safety feature to not put power to a shorted out cell, causing that acid to blow.

The boost pack is the battery at that point and is it's not sensing any dead or shorted cells. Put a dead battery in there and it won't work.

The problem with these smart chargers is, they need to sense volts to provide volts. So if the battery is super dead, the boost pack won't sense enough volts to provide any boost. That is their only downfall. I get it's for liability issues and they don't want to be sued for putting volts to...
