I have a northern tool sprayer, it has a pair of broadcast sprayer nozzles and a spray wand. It works pretty good after I fixed a couple of leaks. I set it on a cheap carry all on my 3 point but it’s not really a 3 point sprayer.

On another forum it was pointed out a hose clamp is missing. I think what I saw when I first looked is a hose on the right, mostly painted green, and the fitting on the left that the hose slid off.

I’m going to go with several others, 16 to 18 feet, two 3500 pound axles, for a total capacity of 7000 pounds and brakes. If you have just the tractor on it the trailer will look huge. If you have the FEL on and an implement on the back then it won’t look so ridiculous.

The Kubota BX I owned several years ago was self bleeding. When I added a remote filter I drained the fuel lines several times messing with it and took a little longer to start but not much. Just cycling the key a couple of times without trying to start it is enough.

I think that’s normal. That’s not very much of a leak down. You really should set the FEL down when you shut the tractor down anyway.

That dew point is insane, ours is in the mid 60’s today and yesterday was around 70.

Is there a vent hole in that starter with some smoke stains around it? It’s probably the camera angle but it almost looks like the starter is sagging down on the left side.

I think it depends on the generator to and how it’s used. Mine is a portable and runs just a couple of hours a year on average. It holds 6 gallons of gas. I just don’t use it enough to keep fresh fuel in it.

If you have 2000 lbs at your pins you’re not even close to 2000 lbs 4 feet out. Counterweight is critical for safety but adds nothing to your lift capacity.

@EddieWalker, everything in Texas is bigger, except gas prices. It’s about $0.40 more in Illinois.

I use a 30-06, I found a 223 isn’t big enough. Sorry, I can’t help but make fun of the typo. I run my generator dry also.

In my experience if you don’t keep the grass mostly out of your gravel it gradually starts to end up looking more like dirt.

I bought a mulching for the 60” deck when I owned a BX2350. I got mine from Kubota but that was about 17 years ago. It came with blades, a block off and baffling. It worked pretty good.

Do you know what the spec is for pressure at the loader? That sounds low but it could be that’s spec for your tractor.

I looked up where the suction screen is and it’s sort of behind the wheel on the left side, I don’t think you mistake a leak there for the filter leaking.

I don’t think there is a vent on the Racor but I’m not sure. BX’s are self bleeding so if it is a vent I never used it. The Racor is setup so you can plumb it in different ways so there are more openings than you need, the extras are just plugged.

If you don’t have a sump with oil, you have to mix oil with the fuel. Saws, weed eaters, pole saws etc end up at weird angles so an oil pick up and traditional sump won’t work.

I’m pretty sure they do have a suction screen, which can get pretty clogged. I don’t know if that coukd cause the filter to keep blowing off.

I’d get some kind of filter setup without all the extra lines.

I have a Stihl HT101 pole saw that is a 4 stroke. So far it’s been pretty solid for me other than it’s a little heavy.

I’ve got a rear wheel drive Lawnboy and at times had trouble getting the wheels to unlock so I could drag it backwards. I’ve given up on it as I can’t get it to run consistently.

I’m also not a fan of the rotary dial. For some reason it’s better for me on my wife’s car where it’s in the console. When we had Rams at work the dial on the dash bothered me.

Is there more than one fuel filter?

I’ve owned a MS 261 for a few years now with a 18” bar. I have to make an effort to bog down cutting big wood. I think Stihl says a 20” bar is the recommended maximum. The oiler is adjustable also so you can turn it up a little.

A problem with the valves or cam? Just a wild guess. You might switch coils and plugs side to side to make sure the new coils and plugs are good.

You can orient the valve stems in the same place relative to the tire. Say all the valve stems next to the G on Goodyear. Pointless to say the least but in the world of high level show cars it’s an actual thing. You get to a show and Jack the car up then make them match.

Ack, I’m having a recurring nightmare after reading this. I just got through messing with a friends tiller with a similar setup. Oldnslo is correct, on his I’d have to take the tank off and tilt it and the carb just right to get the linkage disconnected.

I’m not sure if it was this forum or another where someone chased a bucket that wasn’t quite level. The dealer tried a few things to fix it and I’m not sure it ever did get fixed. I would figure out a way to check it before getting a dealer involved.

If you have a load tester I’d test the battery even though it’s new, probably not the problem. How is the fuel filters? A good running diesel shouldn’t need glow plugs to start when it’s warm out.

Just my experience with smaller cuts and scuts, the hour meter records the time the tractor is running. In other words it doesn’t matter how hard it’s being worked. This may vary by brand. I sure wouldn’t be afraid of a low hour 4 year old tractor.

Sort of. I think it’s actually powered from the camshaft. There are two shafts coming out of the engine, the normal one that is the crankshaft, then a second one that someone posted is an extension of the cam shaft. I haven’t taken it apart to verify that but it sure looks to be the case.

I actually worked on a couple of projects where we improved emergency spillways with reventmat mat. These were for pretty good sized lakes. Does this pond even have any kind of constructed spillway at all.

We just had someone and his dog get killed by a train in our area. He was on a 4 wheeler and got it stuck and was trying to get it off the tracks.

First off if you buy a JD backhoe it is a 3 point backhoe so to speak, sort of, it just goes on a subframe. I’ve never owned a true 3 point backhoe and don’t know if they are really a problem or not.

That looks like a lighting strike to me. We had what I think is a cottonwood get hit across the road from our house get hit, we heard it. It happened about a year ago and it’s still alive.

Yes I’m getting corrosion on my spreader and rinse it off. I also rinse my tractor off and no problems there. I’m only using it for spreading fertilizer once a year on about 2 acres.

No longer than it takes I pulled the head. Neither valve will spin when fully closed. I liked that idea but I don’t think that’s it. I should also add that there is a small chamber under the short intake tube under the carb. That chamber is filling with gas on its own.

Some riding lawn mowers have a little lever, often at the back of the tractor you pull out so the tractor can be pushed or towed. Any chance yours has such a lever and it got pulled out?

Not exaggerating, I’ve had the carb off 10 times. It will run with gas in the carb or starting fluid.

John Deere’s Auto Connect mower decks truly are easy off and on. They do have to be set up correctly.

I use Benadryl for allergies, 1 or 2 a night. It helps with poison ivy a little bit but not much.

My knowledge of generators is pretty limited, I know in theory they should spin 3600 rpm’s to give 60 cycle but I imagine there is a way to build them for half speed. Mine screams at 3600 rpm’s is why I say it’s nice to be half speed.

Arly I went on Kubota and did a “build” on that tractor, it was about $63,000. The snow blower alone is about $7k. That’s considered a Grand L and would be a nice rig. Edit, if it has a backhoe I didn’t do that on Kubota’s build, that would add several thousand more.

The Kubota BX is noticeably smaller than a 1 series JD. I owned a BX2350 for about 10 years and put 800 hours on it, solid little tractors. I added a better fuel filter to it and had to fix a loss of steering with a new seal but it was pretty trouble free.

They weren’t suppose to go under the bridge at all, I believe they lost power and the current took them into the bridge. It’s a newer tall ship and pretty large, built in the early 1980’s. I’m pretty sure it would have a pretty substantial engine.

The 1 series JD’s use aluminum for the transaxle but so do several other makers. There are two distinct size frames in the 2 series, the 2025r vs the 2032r and 2038r. I believe the 1023e and the 1025r are built on the same size frame but I’m not 100% sure.

Kubota BX’s and JD 1 series are very common used and are solid tractors.

So the groundhog crying thing, yeah or nay? :unsure: It been several years ago I shot a skunk. It must of been a mother because there were some babies that started crying so I shot the babies. I felt a little bad about that but not much.

I’m also the kind of person who doesn’t want to shoot animals for the heck of it. Groundhogs and ground squirrels get shot on sight. Raccoons I’m always on the verge of declaring war on but lately I’ve let them be. They tend to dig everything up.

How is the pump setup? Mine for example is near the back of the tractor driven by a driveshaft so I don’t think it possible I could burn any.

I mounted an old decorative ceiling fan from our house to my shop, it works pretty good. I just removed the fancy light fixture from it.

I always figure the bigger deck is better. Since your looking at used I’m not sure I walk away from a 54” deck if it’s a good deal.

I’m pretty much 100% positive using the autostick or paddle shifters turns MDS off. We have had 3 Chrysler 300 C and one challenger. Same with using tow haul in the trucks.

I thought it looked like a snow pusher at first also but if you look you can see the chute and mechanism to turn it.

The 2032r and 2038r are solid tractors. The mid mount mower not so much. They have a fancy name I can’t recall for the height setting. It works great until it doesn’t. There is a little electric actuator that goes bad and is over a $1000 to replace. I’m not sure if JD has fixed it or not...

I probably wouldn’t worry about it. You could change the fluid in your tractor a little early if it’s a concern.

With that much junk on it I’d want it 10p% removed or take into account paying someone to haul it off for me.

John Deere makes some 4 wheel drive riding mowers. Have you thought about a Kubota BX or 1 series JD or similar. They are very common used also.

Ignore the dealer. Which tractor do you like better? Then take cost and the dealer in account. Once you buy the tractor the salesman doesn’t matter, it’s parts and service that matter.

Everyone has pretty much hit it on the head. The MDS requires the 5w-20. You can turn off the MDS but starting I think in 2016 the computers are locked. You can get around it by getting an unlocked pcm and get a programmer but you’re getting over a $1000. You can delete the engine, it’s not...
