I have a friend with a Komatsu pc09 and if you operate it smooth the hydraulics are smooth. So I don't buy that the all machines run like a 5k-7k chinese unit.

That's just wrong. Here are two tires and wheel sizes with same width and circumference with vastly different sidewalls. The reason for low pro tires are larger diameter brakes, looks and that's what people equate with high performance street car.

How much hp does your excavator make? I've seen air filters in 300hp cars with less Sq inches of filter material. I don't think your excavator is being choked out by that filter.

I have this slow leak at the top of one of the injection pumps on a Duetz 2011 series engine. They are motorpal pumps not bosch. The engine manual only shows replacing the pump with no parts diagram of the internals. The engine is running great but I want to fix the leak before it gets worse...

Leveling and smoothing an area with different size aggregate can be very annoying. Things are going great then big chunks buried at different times and depths start getting pulled up and everything goes to crap.

Just wondering. I'm sure the Sany is a fine machine but if you haven't run other brands of similar size you really don't know how much better or worse it is since you have no reference points. Any excavator is better than the hand shovel that it's being compared to;)

Yeah. If two machines weigh the same and one had tail swing and one doesn't the tail swing machine will lift more and feel more stable. At least that's been my experience. To me a zero swing excavator is like a tractor with no counter weight.

If you don't need a zero tail swing check out the takeuchis. The big butt overhang makes them very capable for the light weight machines compared to the zero tails.

Thanks I've never thought about tongue weight being taken off the trailer. I've always just taken trailer max weight subtracted actual weight of trailer and that's the most I'll load in it.

I ran a older 45hp diesel trencher and rented a newer 44hp gas trencher for a month. The 45hp diesel could do the work at a nice easy 2k rpms, I think 2600 rpms was maxed out. The gas trencher had to be maxed out 3500rpms to get anything done, was louder, vibrates more and burnt way more fuel...

Lift capacity matters but smoothness and the ability to multifunction are very important also. Another thing I've noticed between brands is the difference in smoothness and whine "loudness" in hydrostatic tractors.

When working in the wet alot depends on how much tracking over the same area you'll be doing. Minimal tracking no problem, bunch of tracking will make a mess.

Mini skids rated capacity is usually listed as "operating capacity" which is often 1/3 of actually lift capacity. A sk1050 for example 1062lb operating but has 3000lb lift capacity and I'd bet is built tougher than most smaller tractors.

I've found when moving piles with an excavator it's much faster to keep moving the machine backwards and "sweep" with pile along behind you with the bucket than it is to scoop/rotate/dump repeat. If you have a wide bucket or thumb to grab a beam it speeds things up even more.

The brake rotors I tried shooting shattered. I also made some out of old disc harrow disc's and anything less than 125yrd puts holes in them using 6.5grendel past that they seem to hold up and ring nicely.

Takeuchi sold me my excavator much cheaper for cash than their 0% offer. Kubota was the only company that wouldn't budge for cash. When I sold equipment the dealer paid the finance company a percentage of the sale for 0% and other low interest options.

In love eating meat but you can feed more people with the plants grown than you can with the meat produced from the plants being fed to animals. Then there are the soybeans that go to plastic production , cotton for fabrics and corn for ethanol like you mentioned.
