Tiny house as a first home solution for my son?

I like the tiny house concept and I think would hold their value and could be sold later or as someone mentioned moved to your son's property you sell him later. As someone who lives next to his in-laws, since 2014, let me give you a few pointers that will help them not hate living next to you...

Edit: Robotics Process Automation (RPA) as it is now being referred to today, is actually programing but now there are tools that do a lot of the code so you don't have to be such a smart programer. Tractor Owner Enthusiasm

I find a great deal of irony in this questions, not even sure it is a question. The "Top three" you mean Iseki, Kubota, Yanmar and Shibaura (oh that's four)? They are making the parts for a LOT of what I'm guessing you're calling the top 3. The main parts at that. Or maybe you are talking...

    First tractor

Congrats on the new tractor, you not only bought a tractor, as was said, you made a memory and got a good story out of it. Looks like Deutz makes their engines and they have been making very large farm equipment for years. I bet you will be happy with it. Looking at the specs, I had no idea a...

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

I would agree with this and your previous post. However, I'm counting multiple blanket statements folks have made (i.e. $1m dollars isn't life changing, isn't a lot of money etc. ). I can tell that, that blanket statement is simply not true. Depending on who you are and where you are, even $100k...

Edit: Have to call Bull on this... $1m would change 99.9% of all yall's lives and you know it. Some more than others. I wouldn't move or retire but I would probably help a lot of folks... that is life changing and not just yours. .. How's that Snobdds? 😊

Small reliable (low maintenance) irrigation system from pond?

Shed roof next to your garden... setup a rain barrel or two. Or Mendosy's idea seems like it would be economical.

    Growing plants during drought condition

Yeh, your tomatoes look great. I may do this around some of my tomatoes next year to see how it works. I could also see this working great around zucchini and peppers... things that don't vine.

    New Tractor manufacturer

Was just watching the video and thought it had a lot of characteristics of my Yanmar then found this link on ITL who makes the Summit... I wouldn't be afraid to buy one of these. They have a lot of great features...

    No Kubota loaders?

Yes, the first 2 tractors I owned had no loader, the next 4 tractors I owned/own have loaders. Guess what I'll never not have again? I would go without A/C before I would be without a loader, close though.

Sound interesting, would love to see a pic of that. I do a lot of experimental growing just to see what works. This sounds promising.

    Growing plants during drought condition

Reading this thread while sitting here listening to a much needed rain... I have been using Hugelkultur for about 4 years now. I learned about it while trying to find low cost raised bed solutions. It has been used in Europe for centuries. The technique can also be used in raised beds, large...

    No Kubota loaders?

Yep, I shopped Kubota before I bought my Yanmar and the kubota dealer had the right tractor to fit my needs but no loader. He said Kubota was asking them to sell tractors with no loader with promise of loader later. Huh! Made my decision for me but I don't regret the Yanmar purchase one bit.

    New Holland TC45D opinions?

I hate to say it but in this used market you almost need to already know what you want, hunt every day and go get it as soon as it is listed. It is the only way you're getting a good deal. Do your research and make your short list and have cash on hand to put down a deposit or buy it out right...

    New Massy 1835E

Congrats on the tractor, that's a very nice tractor! I love MF tractors. Keep that fuel filter clean as when it cycles the DPF it uses a LOT of fuel I hear and if the filter is dirty and it starves during a burn it is not a good thing for your tractor. Where are the pics of this said tractor?

    Comparison Sa424

Not to hi-jack the thread, somewhat along the lines of the what the OP posted though. Have any of you pulled a 5' disk or 5' tiller with your SA? Would it handle either?

    New Holland TC45D opinions?

I've had three tractors with the Shibaura engine in them, which is what the TC45d has, and they are stellar engines. For what you are wanting to do, that tractor would be outstanding. Also Shibaura is a good cold starting engine; start right up with minimal glowing. I wouldn't be afraid of that...

Looking to buy my first tractor

I think you have been getting some good feedback in this thread. That McCormick does look like the right size for your needs. You won't outgrow that and you can run pretty large cutters and implements with it. It also has the Mitsubishi engine which is right up there with the best. I know...

Given your tractor experience and your line of questions regarding maintenance. I'm concerned I may have given you bad advice on the 75hp tractor. I'm not saying you can't learn on that large of a tractor, you certainly can, but it isn't the best idea to learn on something that large. I'm...

How Hard Can a Tractor Pull?

About a month ago my neighbor asked me to come till some ruts in his yard so I tilled them and then saw a rock sticking out of his yard about six inches. He had been mowing around it. What are you OCD about?

I guess I'm OCD here too because I can't either. Yeah, this is quirky. My wife used to walk across the room to make sure the switches all aligned one being a 3-way switch. Yeah, my 28 year lived with us for a spell after his divorce and this drove me crazy too.

Looking to buy my first tractor

Pretty logical assumption that if someone says they want to farm 35 acres they want to make a profit. He then confirmed that in post #22. I think some guys just want to help.

Looking to buy my first tractor

Have to agree here. I could turn a profit off of my 5 acres depending on what I grow. Think outside the box a little. You could do hay on 40 acres. Now living off of 40 acres that is a different discussion and it would take a different kind of farming all together, Veggies, Trees etc. However...

I hate grass raking! How can i avoid it? do i need a new tractor?

If money isn't the issue this is kind of a no brainer. Trade the tractors on a tractor and loader of the size you want and spend at least $6k on a light commercial ZTR. It will have better hydros and you will be happy. Trust me. Mowed with tractors, Garden tractors and ZTRs and I would never go...

    Horse power vs tiller width

I run a 50" tiller with a 18PTO hp and it does a bang up job feels like it could run a bigger one. your tractor has 20PTO hp. I think it would run a 60" tiller just fine. With a tiller the worst thing that can happen is if you are a little under powered you just take a little smaller bite (don't...

Did I mess up the measurements on my PTO cut?

Don't forget to file out the shavings on both cuts inside and out and spray out the shafts with penetrating oil or WD 40 to get all the shavings out before trying to connect them. Lube them up good before you put them together.

Looking to buy my first tractor

If you are serious about tilling that many acres, step it up to 75hp and get a shuttle shift, not a hydrostat. You can pull larger implements. 50hp is utility tractor size and I think you need to step it up a little. You could do it just take you longer. Get a shuttle shift either way because...
