CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

That is true, it’s just a cable. This story is just wild. What a coincidence that the sound was not from the front axle, which was also in fact a mess after just a few hours. Man, I hope you find a resolution soon… I wish the dealer and TYM would after 6 months say, enough, and give you a new...

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Soooo, that front axle was likely NOT abnormal. It wasn't the problem at all. That makes me fear what other "normal" axles look like
  13. CloverKnollFarms

What safety equipment do you have when running chainsaw?

Well, we are buying a trauma and bleed kit for the chainsaw trailer for our ministry. What we had was really inadequate. We always wear chaps, helmets, ear protection and visors. Yeah, when it's 90F it's a real treat... But it is what it is

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

So, was it just coincidence that they looked at the axle and found all that damage??

    It’s here!

Filters, all three, were $126 plus tax A bit more expensive than from some other sources, but with as little as I'll need to change them, probably nice to give my local guy the business.

What have you done to your Branson today?

I don't think on my tractor it would be a real issue. The underside of the hood is pretty clean. I could always hit it with compressed air if need be
  18. CloverKnollFarms

What have you done to your Branson today?

I'm not too worried about the heat sink getting clogged, but the Branson has a basically solid cap on the back of the light, and I'll need on with a hole to pass through the stem of the led light.
  19. CloverKnollFarms

What have you done to your Branson today?

Well, I've found H4 and HS1 LED bulbs, I also have to find new dust caps to accommodate the LEDs.

  26. CloverKnollFarms

What safety equipment do you have when running chainsaw?

First Aid? At home, it's all in the house. When I do disaster relief calls, it's in the trailer but I'm not sure what we have. Setting up the trailer tomorrow, so now I know to make that a priority
  27. CloverKnollFarms

How are actual sale prices vs MSRP currently for Kubotas (or other manufactures)?

All dealers offer different pricing… you’d really have to speak to the dealers you’d be buying from to get a price. I was quoted four different prices on my tractor, and I didn’t go with the lowest due to proximity and dealer.

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Nope, mine is completely silent and smooth. So, if you lift the front wheels, and turn them by hand, it makes no sound at all and the wheels spin smoothly? Is it the same sound as before? Because there was definitely damage in the front axle before.

What have you done to your Branson today?

Yeah, with this new switched power box, I’m tempted to mount a long LED light bar on the ROPS. I don’t do a lot of low light work, but last year I did some and incandescent lights suck.

    Deciding between HST & Power-Reverser

I thought I'd want a gear drive after growing up on them on the farm. I test drove a few TYM HST models and was sold. I have a 4-range hydro which gives me indefinite speeds. High range is really transport speed. I generally work in 2-3 ranges. Low range is probably 1/2 mile per hour at PTO...

Really, really dumb question about difference between off road and on road diesel fuel.

I use off road. I only know of one station near us offering it, and seemingly no way to find other stations offering it. I don't use enough to justify my own tank and deliveries of fuel. But I do like saving $.70/gal on what I do use. I do use diesel treatment in every gallon, but that is...

The tractor they were selling was the cost of a 48hp diesel, but it had 12PTO HP. That is a tough sell. In that market people use them less than 50hrs per year. Fuel cost isn't a large cost. The real cost is in acquisition and loss of productivity. Resale will be crap now 😂

Well, it hasn't been started since August of 2023... Seven months. No battery tender either. So I gave her a crank and it lit off after half a spin. Got it up to temp and ran it around the property just to get the ol juices flowing. I wanted to be sure when the field dries, it is ready to go.
