Sometime in the past, I saw a YT video where the guy proved the amount of ethanol in fuel by mixing it with a measured amount of water in a graduated cylinder, agitating it, then measuring the result and doing some math. The ethanol would bind with the water, and separate out to the bottom of...
That's the truth!
I built a 2 ft cube of concrete for the 3ph that has some old brake rotors, rebar, and stuff embedded in it. Haven't weighed it, but I'm guessing around 1200 lbs. Cheap and effective, but I could have gone lighter. If I had access to a load cell, I would have chained the 3ph...
Perhaps they weren't that tight when originally assembled, but you got some galling or dissimilar metal corrosion on the threads, making them harder to get apart. I've encountered something similar when separating brass and stainless NPT fittings. Having just run a bunch of 1-1/4", 3/4" and 1/2"...

Their retractable ratchet straps are amazing for lighter loads, and the WLL goes on up from there.
You can use a PTO powered hydraulic power pack to run skidsteer-type hydraulic implements on the FEL. Either pre-made or DIY, but your PTO horsepower could put you right in the middle of that flow range with the right PTO pump.
Taking about emissions deletes, especially for an on road vehicle, on a public forum is asking for EPA trouble. Don't do that to yourself or the forum.
CK3510SE here too. No such thing as neutral on our PTOs. I installed an overrunning clutch and it makes the connection so much easier. It also saves wear on the internal PTO brake. Before that I would slip a breaker bar through the u-joint area and use that as a lever to turn the implement.
The 3ph is more than capable of lifting both of those mowers. I think it's rated around 1300 lbs at 24 in past the end of the arms. HP wise, I think you'll be fine with either, just go slower with the wider one. Being able to get into a bit of a tighter spot with the smaller one may be a feature...
You'll be fine with the FM78. PTO HP recommendations are such a crap shoot because there are so many other variables. IMO this is where your HST will shine vs a gear drive. Slow down in the thick stuff, speed up when you can, and any speed in between that's right for the terrain.
I bought a...
If your CK3510SE is programmed the same as mine, it starts the regen process before illuminating the light on the dash. For a few seconds, I'm aways like "WTF is this thing doing?" then the smell changes and the light comes on, and it all makes sense. I've had two regens now that started when...

Same here, with State Farm. Covers the "list" I gave to my agent which includes tractors and implements, on or off my property. I had to specifically state I wanted it covered off my property. They wanted a list of items, serial numbers and values (for which I used MSRP). If I recall, the...
I'm super lucky, because my roadside trash service takes waste oil. I just have to label it clearly and place it next to the trash can. They probably either have a waste oil heater for their shop where they service the trucks, or mix it in with the huge qty of used oil they make.
An automotive...

Before vacuum coolant refill tools were common, when I'd drain and refill any coolant system, I'd part the vehicle up hill on the steepest hill I could find. Putting the water pump at the highest point in the system really helps pull all the air pockets out.
I run on mostly asphalt, concrete and a little gravel, so I keep my pressures at around 20 in the rear, and (I think) 40 up front. When I work mostly on dirt, I lower the rears to 12 psi. If I'm not lifting anything heavy with the FEL, I'll air down the fronts to around 25 psi. If it's going to...
I swear, that stuff works almost as good as "bead lube" as it does for weight. Instances of tire spinning seem to happen much more often in tires loaded with beet juice.
Are the rims spinning in the tire? Grab a paint marker and make index marks on both the tire and rim, then try your maneuver again. If the lines don't line up after, add some air to your tires.
I have the same tractor but from 2019 and mine has that zerk. It is at the bottom of the 3PH control lever under the tractor. I access it by ducking under the tractor in front of the right hand side rear tire. If you can't find it, I'll grab a video of where it is at on mine.
Also, I'm guessing the tractor sat for a while before you bought it? I wonder if maybe there's a fuel quality or fuel filter issue. Tier IV's seem to be pretty picky about clean fuel and filters.
@MichiganIron : Is there any way for owners to read the codes on these tractors? Like a third-party...
I think those error codes are being generated by the cluster. In other words, it's not trying to show you what codes the ECU is throwing, but rather telling you that the instrument cluster isn't receiving those signals. Maybe pop the cluster out and reseat the connections, and check for mice...
The best money I've ever spent in my own business is on a good CPA and attorney. A CPA is pretty generalized, but finding an attorney that knows my industry was priceless.
One thing that might help you build a list for your area/industry would be to speak to local municipalities. They're going to contract out at least some work and will have insurance certificates on file for those jobs. A friendly phone call to the county/township/city clerk's office may get you...
Blake,
From my standpoint, I hate FB with a burning passion. I could go into it but, from a societal, political and technological standpoint, the world would be a better place if it never existed. As a result, if a business engages in single-channel marketing, thereby endorsing a certain...
Tape the top of the joists with the same stuff used for water/ice barrier roof underlayment. They even make pre-cut rolls that are the right size. They'll last darn near forever.
I find that "tapping" or bumping my foot on one of the pedals works great. (Kind of like keeping the beat of a song with your foot.) Not actually trying to depress the pedal, but letting the small impact jog the HST pump.
On dry asphalt, I cannot spin my tires in low range nor stall it. The HST goes into relief. On dirt, 2 wheel drive, no counterweight/implement, it'll bury itself. In between these two scenarios are all kinds of variables.
Mine has a combination of colored bands on the valve body and stamped numbers around the circumference of the adjustment knob. Combining those two indicators gives a reasonably repeatable setting. In other words, "5-blue" is hard to confuse with "5-orange", as by the time "5" comes around again...
Correct. I believe I found the fix I used on a forum dedicated to tractors of the green variety.
I do this, especially when using the snow pusher. It's nice to be able to cycle the pusher through dump quickly to dislodge any stuck snow.
I think the core issue is tolerances in the loader valve. I'm basing that on the fact that the symptoms were far worse when I had something heavy on the pallet forks, and tried to "dump" it very slowly for precision, like when trying to raise a pallet while keeping it level. The valve probably...
The flow control restricts fluid flow out of the rod end of the curl/dump cylinders, to resist the "dump" movement, but allowing full flow when "curling". The idea is to prevent air building up on the piston end of that cylinder.
The seat and panel below it is pretty easy to remove and should give you visibility on all the 3pt stuff. I seem to remember reading something about a fitting on a CK3510 that was in that area with a bad o-ring from the factory. It didn't start leaking until the "paint seal" gave way.
That zerk is at the base of the three point hitch control lever. It is under the operator station. If you get under the tractor in front of the rear tire and look backwards, you should see it. If you can't find it, I'll try and grab some pics later on.
Also, as far as greasing frequency, I just...
Glad to help. Let us know how it works for you. One additional benefit that I noticed is when I'm lifting something very heavy with my pallet forks, it used to dump a just bit when I'd move to the curl. Like there is a dead spot in the spool where it is neither sending pressure, nor being closed...
A surprising amount of legalese is there to scare off people from pursuing a remedy. A good example is that little disclaimer on parking stubs, like for a parking building, that says "We aren't responsible for damage". In many states, yes, they are, but they still put that on there since if it...
There used to be a write-up, but I can't seem to find it. For my KL4030 loader on my CK3510, here's what I bought:
3/8 NPT 8 GPM Prince WFC-600 In-Line Flow Control
3/8" NPT Male x 3/8" NPT Male Straight 5404-06-06 Adapter
And here's how they're installed:
Unscrew the male quick disconnect...
Isn't that tractor roughly the same as a Kioti CK4010? I know my CK3510 will do both at the same time, but it is much easier with higher engine RPM, resulting in more hydraulic flow. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the sweet spot in the valve. For instance, if I move the stick to the raise...
I think I see the joke you're trying to make, but if a HST's piston pump with its swash plate at zero-pitch resists the flow of fluid and provides a braking function, can you call that neutral?
I've never thought the solid vs pivoting axle dynamics, but you're absolutely right. The pivoting (and steering) front axle interacting with the load on a FEL really introduces some variables. No wonder some tractor-to-forklift conversions back in the day turned the operator station around and...
Weird. On my 2019 CK3510SE, I only have to apply the brake to start. When running my chipper, I often start and shutdown the tractor while standing next to it. No neutral or seat switch. There doesn't appear to be any safeties at all with the PTO. Don't even need the brake applied. 🤷♂️
Lately I've been welding bolts onto thick pieces instead of drilling through them to create mount points. It's faster than drilling, but I suppose you could create stresses, so maybe the same warranty-voiding worry applies.
On my CK3510 the mirrors mount to the front of the foot area. Maybe...
Thanks for the update! I'm wishing I would have saved myself some money and bought the one from Victory as well instead! 😁
Every time I buy something of Chinese origin, I'm surprised if the manual doesn't suck. To be fair though, there was quite a bit of fiddling with the input chute on my WM...
Ok, yeah. Mine looks like yours. (No cracks that I can notice.) It looks like ours has two gussets between the "tube" and bolt area, whereas OPs only has one. I wonder if there was a design change to prevent this issue. I don't think they would have used a different bracket on the 3510s vs...
It's probably going to be on you, since it is technically a modification. Couldn't hurt to ask though. This is the one I installed, and for me, it wasn't worth the $35 to even bother the dealer.
I had something exactly like the first video happen when plowing with my snow pusher. At the end of the job, I'd lift the pusher up and dump it all the way over a snow bank to bang out any stuck snow. After plowing for a while (very little curl use), the dump would seemingly stall, just like...
My dad ran a 72" tiller behind a 22 HP Yanmar with no problems and moved along at a seemingly decent speed, but the soil was excellent. Loose, well drained and very little clay. It's about soil composition.
I have a similar tractor/loader, and I'd like to inspect the problem area. I just looked at mine, but can't figure out the spot you're looking at. My brackets might be painted a different color. Can you take a pic from further back and highlight the trouble area?
I wonder if the pickup is getting a bit clogged, and the warmer (thinner) oil is easier to pull past whatever obstruction. I had a similar issue with a HST lawn mower. The drive felt jerky when first started then ran fine after a few minutes. Changed the oil and filter earlier than the...
I had the same thing, and like many others in this thread, though it was pretty normal. Just internal seals doing what they do. That was until I installed a directional inline flow control valve to "resist" the dump action of the loader. I originally did it to stop the floppy bucket when back...
Different tune in the computer is likely all it is.
Before you worry about HP, figure out what implements you want to run. PTO driven implements to be specific. They will dictate what HP you need.
Yes, very easy. As long as you do it once right when you first get it and grease the pins a little! I waited until about 50 hours to first remove it, and it was a bit stuck. Since then, easy peasy.
There is a mod someone on this forum did to add a brake pedal on the left using a factory pedal. I'm sure the mod could be modded to delete the right pedal all together. I can tell you that, while the pedals all seem close, my size 13's don't cause a problem. Perhaps it's just a muscle...
I have a CK3510SE and the PTO engagement switch is pretty much "instant" engagement. I run a ditch/bank flail mower and wood chipper off the PTO. My engagement process is pretty much: reduce RPM to idle, engage the PTO switch, and throttle up to PTO RPM. The RPMs drop a bit when engaging, but...
Whenever I install a stainless or aluminum fastener, I reach for the anti-seize. Also use it on high stress fasteners (like wheel lugs & nuts) or in areas prone to corrosion that I know I'll be working on again such as vehicle suspension parts.
That's pretty interesting. I would love to see the difference between your Walmart diesel and another station's that caused more frequent regens. Any idea where Walmart gets their diesel from in your area?
Running the pump dry (if you forgot to open the valve) on a regular basis would probably damage it, and it may be a pain to re-prime the system. If you're just using it for filter changes, then there's probably little downside.
I had a power company guy tell me that the new smart meters actually monitor that regularly. I guess it tells them if they need to adjust certain parts of the grid.
On our tractors, as I read the factory service manual, the shaft comes out of the engine, into the hydrostat pump. Then the rear shaft on the hydrostat pump drives the PTO drive train. So, something between the hydro pump and the engine is broken. Definitely a dealer/warranty issue.
I don't think it would be that hard to fab up a back drag setup, but it would probably have to be a little bigger than just an edge. The top of the pusher is quite a bit further back than the leading edge. The back drag kit is the whole top black part in this pic (not my setup):
They advertise...
Nothing especially new here, but wanted to share. I grooved my rear tires and siped the fronts. My goal is a bit better forward traction, but mostly better steering when plowing snow. Once I drop the HLA 1800 snow pusher in float, there's a lot less weight on the fronts, so turning on slippery...
I feel a little silly admitting I did not know it was there, but today when poking around the tractor I discovered my Kioti CK3510SE ROPS has a 12V power outlet (aka cigarette lighter socket). Left hand side, on the side of the plastic lever-cover at the rear by the rectangular "phone pocket"...
Does anyone know the official spec on how much flow is available at the rear remotes on a CK3510? Perhaps from the shop manual?
The marketing info says 11.7 GPM "total" flow, but in researching I can't find a definitive answer on how that total flow is divided between the power steering and...
Here's my recently completed ballast. It's a 2ft cube with sixteen 60 lb bags of concrete, rebar, several disc brake rotors, angle iron and some other stuff. I'm guessing total weight is around 1300 to 1400 lbs. When I bought the tractor I had them not fill the tires knowing that I'd need...
I've not owned many tractors. I had a 1958 Oliver 550 (inherited), that obviously didn't have any safety features, and was gifted a 2006 Cub Cadet garden tractor when dad upgraded to a zero turn. I can't get off the seat without it killing the engine unless I lock the parking brake, nor can I...
Hey all! Signed up for the forum a little while back and finally though I'd say "HI" officially. I bought a Kioti CK3510SE HST in October and have been having some fun with it. Snow removal for my long driveway, mowing the slopes along it, and helping with projects around the yard are the main...
