Easy way to install the wheels on the generator.

I've been using wheels to move my equipment around in the barns for years. I put them on everything from welders, generators, tool caddies, fuel tanks, and even 3pt attachments. I started by fastening them directly to the equipment but switched to dollies for more flexibility. Sooner or later...

    Windshield washer fluid reservoir cap

I've lost several of the darn reservoir caps on tractors as well as my vehicles. I swear there's a gnome around that likes to swipe them. Quite by accident I found these vinyl caps are a good fit and work as an acceptable replacement: RVC. They are very flexible and can be cut to any...

    Driveway help

Are you referring to corrugation or "washboarding"? The "waves" can be from 2' to 20' apart, depending on slope, drainage, vehicle speed, etc. I fight them constantly on my 1.25 mile private road. In my case, I've found the best implement to use is a stone rake with scarifier, grader blade...

    Downsizing & Simplifying Discussion Thread

Another downsizing & simplifying project I completed recently, was to replace all my overhead door openers. I have 5 of them, all between 15 and 30 years old. All are different types and I've been cobbling on them for years to keep them working. When the oldest one died recently, I could no...

    Downsizing & Simplifying Discussion Thread

Yeah, I've sold a few implements on Marketplace recently. That dump trailer sold in one day! I listed it at 3:30 PM and a guy from NJ bought it in less than an hour. He drove up and picked it up that same evening. Probably could have sold it for more, but it had quite a bit of corrosion in...

    Addicted to Amazon

    Addicted to Amazon

Amazon, and other online retailers have been a godsend for us rural folk. So far this month, I've placed...

Yeah, tractor tires sure generate complaints. Mine happened last year when I was back in the woods clearing some dead trees. I hit a stump and managed to shear off the valve stem on the rear filled tire of my MX5800. On site repair would be expensive and I didn't want to risk damaging the...

    L3130 hydraulic oil filter change

    Rough times for whitetails?

Watching the road edges does no good here in PA. Too many miles of 55 mph roads with little or no shoulder. A deer can step out from behind a tree and be in the roadway in an instant. Sure, you can slow down and do 20 mph in a 55 zone but then you become a road block.

Both. I'm a firm believer in keeping my equipment inside, and out of the weather. I made it a priority in the budget. As soon as I could afford it, I put up buildings large enough to accommodate truck, tractors & implements. Our 2 cars are also stored in a garage.

    Top Link Hydraulics Access

Nice work! I might consider it on my L6060 HSTC. For now, I open the side window. When I stand next to the rear tire, I can reach through, operate all the hydraulics and still see the 3pt hitch. I can't reach the cylinders though, so there is still a bit of guess work. I did something...
