Most trades guys suck at business. The most successful repair shop in town is owned by a guy who doesn't get his hands dirty. He's learned a lot about repairs, but he hires guys to work for him.

We have been burning here for a couple of weeks. I am just getting back to woodstoves after not having one for 20+ years. I had a bit too much wood the 1st couple of times, now building smaller fires, more suited for the temps here. We are in the mid 30's, and we are usually damp :)

I restored 2 old internationals, a 300U and a Farmall H. I had way more into the tractors than I could sell them for. I still have the H, but the 300U sold for about 1/3 of what I had into it. Letter series, unless a rare variant, are pretty much scrap price.

I agree that getting those jobs back is questionable. And as a old Union guy, unions are dead, as far as manufacturing goes. It really represents a single digit percentage of employees, mostly teachers and police. I think they will put up some token plants and declare victory, imho.

The well guy just left. My pump is running, even if I have everything shut off inside. They found it leaking internally. While they are at it, I think I will replace the pump, its 20 years old. I'd rather replace it early than wait until I have no water.

I haven't heard of view taxes here, but I know that if you can see some of our lakes, your property values will be higher, of course the taxes follow that.
