I took a tech school welding glass a few years ago and the welding instructor was a no nonsense lifelong pro that went through great pains to tear stuff apart to show that good welds won't come apart. Skyscrapers are welded these days.

While I think a very low PTO speed is the answer, I believe the angle of the vanes (fins) on the metal cone spreaders can be angled back to reduce spreading width. Mine had adjustment holes in the flat plate on the bottom for that purpose.

I caught mine on a hot wire decades ago and it was the second time. If you have the time, the scarring and discoloration of your finger goes away in about 15 years. Haven't worn one since. :)

Most people don't realize what a complex thought process it is to get everything in the barns for winter. I used to make sketches and arrange on what needed work over winter and the degree of access needed for that and to get out in the right order come spring.

Plus on the leaf blower. When I lived in a cold and snowy climate, lots of snow was light and fluffy and you could blow it away from the house.

I run mine without a radiator cap--or just leave it loose--for a while after new anti-freeze so it can heat up some and get air out. I don't think trapped air happens much with Kubotas. My M7040 takes forever to heat up so I put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to speed it up.

How many bales would you put on that before you would want to replace it? Does much go wrong with it or need maintenance? Is greasing easy?
