Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even a "better" place could still be subject to you needing to be ready to defend yourself. Out in the remote country isn't even a guarantee like it may have once been. To me having one good self defense weapon or more is no different or stressful than...

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

No firearm should be accessible to a child or any one not provided the "code" or "sequence" for that matter. There are too many rapid access safes these days to not have them, many you wouldn't even know there was a firearm there. They provide safety, security, and rapid access/deployment.

We really are being spied on!!!

Yep, Alexia supposedly is listening to key marketing words I have heard/read. I have also heard some iPhones do the same. Haven't heard if the Androids do. Based on your experience, I'd say you confirmed the Alexa part.

I agree. If the house alarm and barking (and biting) dogs didn't deter you, I am not taking the threat lightly and will be unleashing maximum threat "neutralization"!

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

There are many articles and data that show the all time best performer for stopping effectiveness is the .357 magnum. The best article I read years ago analyzed several Law enforcement records and the various calibers they all used and the .357 Magnum recorded the most perpetrators stopped with...

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

Hypothetically speaking, If one did not scrap it and was later found by the "authorities", what would be the fine?

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

Totally agree with the first part. Funny you mention suppressors. I have been considering get one (or more) for the last few years and in one of my emails this morning it mentioned this company. I really like their plan. https://www.silencercentral.com/ Hopefully it's allowed.

Get a DA Revolver, then you can just simply squeeze the trigger. One action and done. I have some single action pistols for Cowboy action shooting in .357Mag, if the invasion happened in day light when they would be visible and there was time, I think a pair of them facing a perp would really...

More good points I didn't list. I like your thinking on telling them to leave their ID. The last part is why you should ALWAYS be carrying or have multiple "stations".

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

Even if it doesn't kill them, they should at least vacate the area is my thought. Here at the house skunks are the biggest concern. Both labs have been nailed once somewhere in the back yard over the last year or so, I never knew before how bad an actual skunk spraying was! The first one...

Best firearm for home protection? I realize a lot is personal choice involved?

I agree with this and to take some of what the others mention, use bird shot. Consider a S&W .357 Magnum 4" revolver with Snakeshot! It's simple, reliable, easy to maneuver and the round won't go through the walls or at least not very far. This is what I have for one station (Just one isn't...

    Super Duty Lead Times

Supposedly the F450 has an even smaller turning diameter than the F250/350. Other forums I'm on that is one of the biggest advantages everyone mentions after the load capacity.

Never buy a Korean Tractor!! Especially LS or whatever their name is this year.

I think Unions were a good idea initially but over time most have forgotten what they were there to do and became something too big, unreasonable and out of control.

    Looking for Trucker

Sometimes you can get just individuals planning to make a trip along or near your origination and destinations and will give you a better rate since they are going anyway. My brother has done it a few times between TX and MO hauling a motorcycle or a car mostly. I have a UShip account and watch...

    Texas Fall/Winter thread!

Seeds were planted a few weeks ago in "greenhouse boxes" and on the seedling starter rack with grow lights. Hope to transplant everything after 3/15 unless they predict another frost/freeze in the next 7 -10 days from then.

    Texas Fall/Winter thread!

The difference is I said I don't know if it was true or not, turns out from different sources it is mostly correct. Whereas that link from USAToday is supposed to be a "Fact Checked" article yet it just tries to paint a very biased, Pro democrat take on some of the facts.

    Texas Fall/Winter thread!

I think this forum has some issues. I didn't see 3 or 4 of the posts after the one I made until I went back into the thread a couple times. Like the quote of Citydude. I was trying to find where his original post was and it wasn't here until I went to another thread and back.

    LED lights on ROP

I made some simple brackets that clamp onto the ROPS. I made the spacing equal front and rear in case I later decided I needed a light bar in front as well. The lights and harness all are Traveller from TSC when the lights were on sale.

    Hazard Lights Failure?

I believe there is a separate fuse for the hazards. Did you check it and not just the one for turn signals? This is the what my MT240 has. See the 3rd one up from the right, ECU Power/Hazard, Yours may be the same.

    3-Point Hitch Hydraulic top link

Just a follow up post. I did get the Model 6002 16 1/8 in. to 22 7/16 in. top link and hoses from TSC. I finally had a chance to hook it up and use it. It was definitely the right length for the MT240 using the disk! If it had been the longer one, It probably wouldn't allowed it to be leveled...

How far into ground should disc harrow go? ? ?

I recently bought this old disk for food plots near term and our future large garden. I then bought some old weights and made a weight bracket out of scraps for them. I tried it out in the backyard this weekend but it was too muddy to really judge. The disk weighs 515lbs plus each weight is...

MT240 Grease zerk or grease fitting size?

Any one know what size grease zerk the MT240 needs? I thought I had read on here that the MT2 tractors/loaders/backhoes used an odd grease zerk, maybe BSP? but can't find the information using the search function.

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Finally finished making brackets and installed some LED lights. I made the brackets with the same spacing front and rear so the same light bar could be installed in front if I decide the 2 work lights aren't adequate.

    Chains vs straps

Looks good to me, good geometry on the straps, straps are high quality. Only thing I might change is some say don't strap to the front axle. So make some loops to bolt on to front of the frame to attach the straps to. Like this

    MT125 Storage

I didn't like the idea of mine sitting out all the time either but I won't be able to add a lean to on the shop until next year. I decided to get a large tarp but didn't like the idea of it rubbing the paint off in the winds we get and then having to remove and reinstall it every time I needed...

    New 240he Tractor

This was my solution for holding my gloves, the seatbelt and an extra bottle of water or whatever and it was free! I also fabricated this so I could have an actual useful toolbox, I also repurposed this as a second cup holder as the OEM one holds a can of wasp/hornet spray, I'll have to...

Remote Wireless Controlled Lawn Sprinkler Valves

I have a rainbird system, 10 zones in use and it covers 1/2 an acre around the house including a garden zone and flower bed zone. Most zones are 5-6 sprinkler heads. One main supply pipe runs to them all and then there are in the ground valves at various locations for that zone, usually 2 valves...

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Needed a real toolbox on the tractor that could actually carry some tools so made this last week, Last weekend brush hogging, I took off my gloves and sat them on the console above the range selector and of coarse they fell off, luckily I didn't chop them up and did find them. I need a place...

    MT240 14 x 5 Front wheel source?

Any one ever buy a spare MT240 or MT235 front 14 x 5 wheel? After puncturing a front tire this weekend brush hogging, I see it would be good to have a spare tire and wheel with me. Local LS dealer can't get them and referred me to a local tire place they use and they can't get them. I contacted...

How would you rate these 3 brush hogs? I can get these 3 for about the same price. All rated for 2" dia cutting, all have 65hp gearboxes, all have slip clutches. Seems they all have different areas they rate slightly better than the others, just not sure which matter more. Bush Hog BH215 (10...

    LS MT240 Torque settings

LOL! Yeah, a lot of it has to do with the translation that was done. Rim-disk is the nuts and bolts that hold the outer edge of the center wheel section to the actual rim the tire is mounted on.
