I’m not always great on the use of safety equipment —- but the one thing I always have are glasses and hearing protection.
Once I stopped working as an accountant, my eyes have actually gotten better. I no longer need prescription lenses for close up work.
Plus it says he has to pay all back taxes in 60 days.
I thought it was funny the order specifically says lawyers fees are not included in the $10000 limitation!
Gotta pay the lawyers!
Is there anything more problematic to homes/barns/shops/garages than water?
Rain water, washing machines, toilets, dish washers, water heaters, pressure tanks, sinks, showers —- all ready to cause issues at any moment!
The highest suicide rate based on age are folks age 85 and older. 22.39 per 100,000.
Old age, health, loneliness are (IMO) the causes. It’s not easy getting old.
I know lots of nuns from serving on the Boards of Catholic hospital chains.
All great people. Extremely great people.
I went to Catholic schools for 12 years. All nuns back in the day. Most were great. Not all.
Sorry for your bad experience.
Well —- I saw an episode of Andy Griffith the other day.
The old guys are sitting on a bench outside the store swapping stories about hurting themselves with tools, falling, health issues, younger women and weather.
I looked back on stuff in this thread.
Some things never...
9% think they could beat this???
Ha. These animals have been around since dinosaurs for a reason.
This is an alligator v. a crocodile but give me a break.
Shoot. I fell down today just playing tennis. Was going sideways, stumbled and went down.
Luckily no damage other than pride
But, it did hurt.
And that fall was maybe 3 feet? Maybe even less.
I agree with this thought.
I also can’t get more than 500 miles per day. It’s hard on my legs and back. Plus, I don’t much like driving at night anymore.
Zero turns cannot be beat for cutting grass. Fast and easy.
But - I think you mentioned this - they can get stuck real fast in muddy areas. Then you need a method to “un-stuck” the mower. (I use the tractor).
Good luck.
I think a single attack on a politician v an attack on the whole country is much different. Especially on home soil.
Hopefully there will never be anything close to 911 in America again.
Ha! I once - and only once - used my wife’s measuring container to measure 2 stroke oil/gas for an old Yamaha 2 stroke motorcycle.
Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Cool. But, an even better practice would have been to greet you when they picked up the phone —- “hey CloverKnollFarms, what can we do for you today”?
We do that at the tennis facility when members call.
I did my own and, trust me, if I can do the work you can do the work.
The filters were a tad tight but mine were reasonably accessible and a filter wrench did the trick.
Plus, I found it helpful locating the filters, drain plugs, air filter and filling the tractor back up with fluids. For...
We had a group wanting to build a new indoor tennis facility on land in STL. Would be the first indoor courts in STL in 50+ years.
They figured it would cost $20 million and had about half committed in donations from the bigger companies in the City. They were riding the wave of the desire to...
When I first started working, I remember being on a job and heard President Reagan was shot.
We all clustered around a small radio and prayed.
Then some news organization reported he had died.
Then they changed their story.
It was a hugely emotional day.
I remember the day JFK was killed.
My Mom took us kids (me and 2 sisters) in a room and told us the news. She was crying. It’s the first time I remember my Mom crying.
It made a huge impression. I will never forget that day.
Speaking of skylights and leaks, you know you are old when you do not go up on a ladder on the roof anymore.
I know of more than a few guys who have fallen and have never been the same physically.
There comes a time when certain chores you did as a kid are no longer very good for you and it’s...
Very cute.
My cat gets upset if you put anything on him. He will lay down and not move. It’s like you put an anchor on him v a harness or a sweater!
That darn cat!
I got a Honda CL350 scrambler in 1974. It was the most fun bike a teenager could have in my opinion. Plenty of power to get to/from school/work but not enough to get in trouble.
Great memories of that bike!
Ha. I do remember.
Phone booths —- my grand nieces (10 years old) were watching old Superman TV shows and asked me what that box was where Superman changed clothes?
Had to laugh. How to even begin!
It is hard to understand.
Police can’t randomly stop you, search your trunk to see if you have a murder weapon then arrest you.
But, they can randomly stop you, search your gas tank, and confiscate your vehicle if you have illegal diesel?
I have a Citi credit card.
Long long time.
They are obsessive with sending me notices of unusual/strange charges and asking if it was me.
Most of the time it’s when I’m traveling and charge at a gas station or restaurant outside my home city.
About 4 times I’ve said it wasn’t me.
Well -...
Yep. Did about 3 hours of work outside yesterday. Took my time. Some lifting but not extreme.
Felt fine.
Slept fine.
Woke up this morning, stepped out of bed and my knee almost gave out. Ouch!
I got my assignment for today!
Great question. I agree with you —- unreasonable search and seizure. But - from everything I read is it’s ok.
Can’t see where it’s ever been challenged in court.
Maybe like a DWI checkpoint - but at least there everyone is checked. It’s not completely random based only if you drive a diesel...
Interesting.
I assume school is not called off or interrupted in any way due to the sighting.
Reminds me of the STL area police who put up signs that say “lock it and pocket the keys - or your car may be stolen”.
Thanks for the help!
Yikes. I’m very glad my property has no drop offs. That scares me terribly.
If I had those areas my hands would not be the only thing gripping tightly!!
This. It works. I did exactly the same on my 35hp tractor with front tire similar to yours. It’s pretty easy actually.
Probably intuitive, but you need an air compressor to fill the tire which very much helps seal the tire to the rim.
The other day I had a towel bar come loose. It had originally been hung with just screws in the drywall.
So, I was going to use anchor bolts to make tight.
Didn’t have the right size anchors at home.
So, I thought, I can get better dressed, get in the car, drive 30 minutes to Wally (closest...
My first reaction was a hawk or other larger bird. Maybe mistook the toy for food? Was the toy shaped like a rabbit or squirrel or other tasty meal?
The bird could have got it, discovered it was not a meal then dropped outside the fence where any number of animals could have torn the stuffing out.
Getting a lawyer is - in my opinion - your only real option.
Any sibling can hold the whole thing up and cause pain if they do not agree with your decision. It could take a long time to plow through the courts.
You need to understand exactly what you can - or cannot - do under the terms of...
Fax machines! I haven’t used a fax since I retired over 8 years ago. Brings back memories.
Didn’t think they were around anymore with email, text and scanning.
I went to college at Mizzou. It was less expensive than where I went to high school.
If I recall correctly, it was something like $150-250 a credit hour. In that range. Plus books.
That was 40 years ago.
But, then again, I still remember as a kid biking to little league practice and afterward...
Ha!
My wife says the exact same thing! She says she is tired of me saying “huh”? when she says something.
But - like you said - not hearing and not paying attention are 2 entirely different things.
Not as dangerous - but just as traumatic (at least to me) - was when I was 5 or 6.
My Dad stopped at a gas station and went inside. I stayed in the car. I was fooling around in the Driver’s seat playing like I was driving and somehow set the parking brake.
My Dad comes back, starts the car...
Fantastic work.
I know these tractors can do amazing work - but - the operator also needs to have some skill.
I am still attempting to learn that skill!!

Here you go. This is a few months ago in southern Missouri.
I guess they are coming north!
Well —- I’m in Jefferson County. We (at least to my knowledge) have never had a sighting or an attack in the county.
We have bobcats.
Never seen any sign of a black bear.
No feral pigs yet either.
But - I guess you are correct that they may be coming.
Now you have me worried!!!🥹
Living where there are no mountain lions whatsoever, this is a very interesting thread.
The animals are magnificent and cool to look at in pictures.
But - not being able to leave your house at night or walk your property without fear is not good.
I have no clue as to the answer.
Good luck!
Our Farm (while not all that rural - meaning only 10 or so miles from a town) has zero cell phone coverage. No bars whatsoever. Nada.
So, we need a land line.
Have tried satellite for TV and internet but (as stated above) it’s not all that reliable. Never seems to work when you really want...
Funny!
I used to work for a company that operated theme parks.
The biggest water ride would collect over 10,000 hats each year from folks who road the ride and failed to take off their hat!
It happens.
I knew I was old today when I changed the zero turn oil.
Laid down and put the oil drain pan under the filter. Took off filter. Unscrewed the oil plug. All good.
Except —- now I had to get back up. Used to be easy. Not so much anymore!!
Had an outdoor college tennis match I officiated yesterday. Temp was in low 60s.
Was scheduled indoors but due to weather held on campus.
Today will be indoors as highs are in mid 40s.
My son got the dreaded SOS where the bars usually are located. He was out for making calls but could still text.
I was good the whole time.
He is back to normal now.
We are on the same ATT plan with identical phones.
Very weird.
Ha.
Well, we have the MyQ app where you can open/close your garage door from anywhere.
We are in Florida and our main home is in STL.
A day or so ago, my son calls at night. Says “Dad, do you know why your garage door is open”?
I say “no “.
He says, “check your app”.
Sure enough, plain as...
Back to knowing when you are old —- I read Willie Mays is 92.
I remember him playing in mid-60s. Best player I ever saw in all aspects of the game.
He is the oldest living member of the baseball HOF.
My wife is not into sports. But - in St Louis - baseball is much discussed anywhere you go...
I have always worn watches. Probably always will wear watches.
My wife has never worn a watch. She uses her phone or says. “honey, what time is it”???
I ask her why she doesn’t wear a watch and she says “it doesn’t feel right”.
Hard to argue with that statement! [emoji23]
Ha! Cute dogs are invaluable to having cute women pay attention.
We used to live next to a university. I took our dog on walks across campus and holy cow it was amazing the attention!!!
We will help you not spend by taxing everything possible —- income, property, real estate, gasoline, alcohol, tobacco, sales, and much more.
We are here to help you.
Our cat also wants someone to watch while he eats.
I was told this is an instinct from when cats were wild and eating was when they were most vulnerable to attack.
I cannot image our cat as wild.
I remember when Amazon first started in 1995. Selling books online and mailing to you. Thought that wasn’t really a sustainable business.
I was very wrong!!!!
Cats love running water to drink. Ours wants the faucet running lightly to drink. He also seems to want us to watch him drink.
However, he absolutely refused to drink from one of those machines that circulates the same water like a fountain.
Reinforces the saying “cats have servants rather...
Yep.
Our baby has a cold, is sneezing and runny nose. Took to vet this morning and his lungs are fine.
He is walking around the house slowly with his “poor me” meow.
Can’t help but pick him up and give him a belly rub.
I agree that is what he meant.
I was trying to be funny as the quote I found was the exact opposite.
By the way, the sucker quote has never actually been verified to have been uttered first by PT Barnum. It’s urban legend.
Here is a unique response. I operated this machine for several years as a new accountant with Price Waterhouse.
When I first started, I had to sit in an office and a partner gave me a page from the phone book.
I had to add all the phone numbers on the page. Using this calculator. No adding...
I agree it breaks your heart. Cats can make you feel bad when they don’t get what they want.
Poor baby. All will be good when it’s over.
My guess is you will open the door, your cat will slowly walk out, look at you like you’re a bad guy, then walk away. 5 minutes later the kitty will be...
Yes - I believe you are correct. They use none of their natural resources. That is what I was trying to say.
Japan imports over $15 billion of iron ore used in steel production. They are the #2 importer of iron ore in the world.
Amazon guy just arrived tonite —- 9:15pm EST. Our ring doorbell alerts me and I go to the door.
I ordered a paperback book. $7.99 novel. Colton Shaw series. Ordered on Friday and arrived today. It’s all he had for me.
Guy looked beat. I asked him when he started today. Said 9:30am and he had...
The recently started EA Facebook page has several folks who say they called EA on Friday and Ted himself answered the phone.
One post even has a recording of the phone call.
They say Ted claims EA is opening next week.
Never knew him personally but communicated with him offline a few times.
Not a bad guy. Helped me a little with some welding stuff.
He was a little paranoid the “Blue Whales” - as he called the moderators - were out to get him. I think he intentionally posted stuff to get them upset.
It is...
Wow - LTV. Brings back memories.
I knew Paul Thayer (former CEO of LTV) when he was on the board of Anheuser-Busch.
He was convicted of insider trading by giving insider information to his mistress at the time.
Huge scandal back in the day.
US Steel has an agreement to be purchased by Nippon Steel (Japan’s largest steel company) for around $14 billion. It was agreed upon in 12/23.
The deal has not closed yet.
Claude Akins. There is a name from the past.
He must have been in 1000 old westerns on TV. Just saw him in a rerun of The Tales Of Wells Fargo. Always seemed to be the bad guy.
This may quality—-
In March, we bought a winter place in Florida. Weather was great. No use of heater.
We went back to STL in March.
We come back to Florida in November. It got a little chilly. Wife turns on heat.
I’m outside and hear a/c unit running. Think - wife mistakenly turned on a/c...
Congrats your kitty is home.
I can only imagine how that cone makes the kitty feel!
Ours would lay on the ground and stare at us forever making us feel like bad parents!
Those are great pictures!!
Sorry for your loss. Our pup died 3 years ago and every now and then it still hurts. Especially when I remember the kids and dog playing together in the fields.
Pets are something special!
Ha. My cat also likes drinking from the sink.
My wife will pick him up, put him on the counter and run the water until the sink is 1/4 full.
He leans down and drinks.
Some are very smart.
Some, maybe, not so smart.

To honor Toby Keith (who just passed) and for those of us who are getting older but still believe we can do what we’ve always done - albeit a tad slower —- here you go:
