I would expect 2wd to be fine. If you do get one and end up needing better traction, aggressive rear tires would probably fix it right up.

Nope, not like it comes from the factory. You can lock out the MMM and use the 3 point. But you can't lock out the 3 point and use the MMM.

I have replaced no less than 7 factory ones on my own small engines with cheap chinese ones and have not had one issue. Saws, weed eaters, tiller, and mowers.

I agree, carb issue. You can probably find a new one on amazon for $30 to $40. I've replaced a bunch of them on various small engines and have always had good luck with cheep Chinese replacements.

It has been my experience that the bar tires help a lot on the problems you are describing. But, they are less forgiving to mistakes from the operator not controlling turns or momentum well. Basically they are not as prone to spin but when they do they will dig a hole rather than slide on the grass.

Winters are mild, just rain. If it does snow the state just closes. It's not a huge deal I just wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this before so I could knock it out before rainy season. If it gets too bad I'll just have some gravel brought in.

That is a pretty light mower to have much traction. I have AT-101 tires on mine and they GREATLY improved traction over the turf tires. But mine is 1,700 lbs before I get on it. So there is weight to mash the contact patch into the ground. I bet they will help you with the spinning to a degree...
