Your top image is incorrect for a proper 3point. There is a bracket that bolts on underneath with the bottom pins. I could not find the proper sized bracket so I ended up welding and bolting a solution. If you use the sleeve for the tiller your 3point triangle is too small to work properly.

Cavitation is extremely bad for your hydraulic pump, as it is starved of fluid it will start to wear and grind itself up. A dirty filter / clogged strainer are common causes for it, the other is a leak somewhere that drops your fluid reservoir too low.
