^This! When I click on a post and it takes a long time to load I just go on to another post. I don't have the time or inclination to wait for someone's pic to download. As I stated before, it is not necessary to upload huge files for people who will be looking at them on a phone or computer...

    Not Enough Babies?

I think whoever did those "projections" needs to look at what is happening in the 3rd world countries because obviously they didn't take them into account. That is where all the population growth is happening. Again, in the past 50 years the population of planet earth has DOUBLED. I don't...

    Can't post pics.

I post a lot of pics on this site, and I downsize every one of them before posting. A 500 kb file is more than enough, anything larger just slows things down or stops the upload completely. My camera's photos are ~ 18 mb in size, my phone's are at least 2 mb and both are too large to upload...

    Aluminum car trailer vs steel

I wouldn't be afraid of an aluminum trailer at all, considering your application. 8 years ago I bought an Aluma Model 7816 all-aluminum trailer and it has held up perfectly despite being used mostly on washboardy dirt roads. It has thousands upon thousands of miles on it - I've towed a car on...

Question for those who live in California

I had a peeping "tom" annoying me for about a month. No idea where he came from but he was obviously someone's pet as he would settle down on my deck next to whichever window I happened to be near, and watch me. Never could locate the owner so finally I gave it to a neighbor who had several...

Have we been doing it wrong? High rpm's bad when not needed?

That's been my experience with regen on my Kubota that I've been using for 6 years now. How many acres can I mow per hour?

I wish I could post a video on here of how my tractor tosses and turns as I mow my desert acres. Much of the time I have to hold on to a grab handle just to stay in the seat. Mine had nearly 4000 miles on it now. There's actually 2 pipes up there. One of the things Can-am could have done better(at least on this particular year/model) is the location of the OEM air intakes. Both intakes (belt and engine air) are under the bed of the unit. Here in the desert, this...

    Need Rotary Cutter advice

Only thing I can add is to make sure whatever you buy has an actual "stump-jumper" under it that the blades attach to. The stump jumper is shaped like a huge dish, with upturned edges that let it slide over obstructions. I've seen some models of rotary cutters that didn't use a stump jumper...

Have we been doing it wrong? High rpm's bad when not needed?

Can't speak to John Deere. But the owner's manual for my Kubota M7060 specifically warns against idling the engine too much and I have found that to be true. As long as I keep the rpms up to at least 1800 rpm it rarely goes through a regeneration cycle. If I let it idle a lot, the...

How many acres can I mow per hour?

Probably because when mowing in a straight line from one end of the field to the other you spend a LOT of time turning round at each end, at which time the mower is not doing anything. Going round and round you never stop or turn around.

How many acres can I mow per hour?

"Obstacles" is I guess what I would call them. If I were mowing in a straight line that chart would work. I mow my acres at 2.36 mph, according to my Kubota. If I went any faster it would be dangerous; the terrain is so rough. So that chart is good only for someone mowing smooth level ground. Takes a long time to mow 50 acres with a 6' rotary mower at 2.36 mph............

Can a Zero Turn mow high weeds in a bumpy pasture?

Around here my problem is the badgers that live off the gophers and ground squirrels. When a badger goes in to dig out a gopher he leaves a mound of dirt a minimum of a foot high - with a lot of rocks in the dirt that can be up to 6" diameter. How does the flail handle rocks?
