    GC2400 Front Drive Leak

Take a pic of yours, coz mine ain't like that at all. Mine's a 2018, so maybe something changed. But in any case, top or side of cap, it's same dumb design with vent hole right there next to the wheel. Snow piling up on there, mud/dirt/dust, it's all exposed to that. Also consider if we're...

    GC2400 Front Drive Leak

I'll argue that it's a seal, it's designed to deal with that level of pressure. In any case, the vent on the GC is a stupid design...a hole on the top of cap, where moisture and dirt and stuff could easily get into it. Ridiculous, probably why they paint over it at the factory. Kenny from...

    GC2400 Front Drive Leak

Well ok again, I gotta question how much heat can get generated in there to cause considerable fluid (both oil and air) expansion, it being a tractor with a top speed of 10 mph or whatever? When you top off your oil to appropriate level and screw in the plug, that air gap left in there is not...

    GC2400 Front Drive Leak

So going back to this topic here, I got 2 questions. 1. If this vent is necessary, why is it so many GC owners reporting theirs are painted over from the factory? 2. Why is this vent necessary? If you don't overfill it, even with some heat there's room in there for fluid expansion. And how...

How much trust do you put into product reviews and ratings?

    Scut with mid mount mower

To be fair, there are positives to a scut with a midmount deck, like for instance some people don't want a bunch of machines to house and maintain. I would say the ideal candidate is somebody who mainly has the tractor set up as a mower during mowing season, and occasionally throws on the...

Just some further talk about adding a mulch kit. Massey's GC line doesn't even have, the only option is to buy their dedicated mulching deck. As for Kubota's BX decks, it's a $600 kit, and here's what it takes to install it: Whereas most garden tractors already come with 2-in-1 deck, only...

    Scut with mid mount mower

I could drive my stander mower with one hand, and much of my property is a hill...no problem mowing it. Your BX is around 1400 lbs on it's own w/o the loader and backhoe attached. Your mmm adds another 200 lbs to that. That's a lot of weight there on your turf, compacting it. How much...

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Nope, it's all blacktop. That's just the result I'd get using the snow edge, using my technique there with the bucket curled down. I found when using it with bucket level, I'd have same problem you're having now, with the bucket riding up over the snow. So curled down was the way to go, but...

Ratchet Rake Snow Edge on stone or lawn?

Hey. Well I posted that vid for you in the Massey thread, but that was on asphalt. As for stone, yeh I dunno how the snow edge will do on YOUR particular brick driveway, it's all a matter of how tight/level the bricks are. I did my neighbor's brick drive once with it, had no problems.

I buy new fuel can. Then, I go to tractor supply and buy that thingie they sell. I come home to my new fuel can, remove the "government" spout, place it in the garbage can, install the thingie I bought at tractor supply. The end.

We've had like no snow this winter so far, it's the strangest thing. I've plowed once before the new year, and it was only a few inches worth. I sure hope that's not a sign of a crappy summer w/o rain!

Hey Hube, I had that snow edge for a couple seasons before I put together a plow, yeh it worked pretty good for what it was. Curious why you would want to replace the edge it comes with. I got a vid of me using the snow edge if u wanna see it.

    Would a loader for a gc1725/1723 fit on a gc1705?

    Would a loader for a gc1725/1723 fit on a gc1705?

I'm pretty sure the newer models could also be got with the DL95 loader, which tells me if you could mount either one on the newer model tractors, you're good to go with your older 1705. But just for general interest, I wonder if the subframe is the same for both the DL95 and the FL1805?

    1025R vs Ventrac/Steiner for slopes

Depends on the slope, I guess. I will say though, a 60" mmm deck does quite a bit to lower your center of gravity. So with that and wheel spacers, you might do alright. Definitely detach the loader for mowing. I got some slopes here, would mow with my massey scut and a 60" mmm, never felt...

Bonded or Floating Neutral for generator?

Generally a subpanel doesn't have a bonded neutral, so if you're backfeeding that with generator with bonded neutral, no worries. The issue is if you're backfeeding the main panel, in which case that's 2 bonded neutrals, won't work. The solution in that case is to unbond the neutral on the...

    Wood snow plows/pushers

    Wood snow plows/pushers

Snow Attachments My snow pusher build

Would need some modifying there, but it's an interesting idea. Wonder if the o/p ever carried on with it and made it a go? I got a plow, but am toying with an idea of making a snow pusher that will fit over the bucket, but I need it to have lots of slop so that it articulates a bit.

What attachments are "toys" for you; you would like to own but they are not practical for you.
