    New SXS

That the RTV can run a snowblower is so cool. That ATV is nice, but that Highland is a lot nicer; it was kind of you to consider the children.

Very nice! You're going to have a lot of fun; a tractor makes life so much easier.

    DK45S vs New Holland TC33D

When you say 955, are you referring to the Deere 955? I think that's a fair comparison. It's prior to LS taking over as the OEM for the Case/New Holland compacts; I think they're made by Shibaura, but it may just be the engine. Either way the TC series were well built. I also understand...
  141. tacticalturnip

    DK45S vs New Holland TC33D

What tasks are you looking to achieve? These are both good machines, and the New Holland's of that era are especially well regarded.

    2008 CK30

That's unfortunate, but from the sound of it, not surprised. You'll find your machine.

    2008 CK30

That's a very clean older CK; how did it go?

    Finally Bought Another Tractor

Sounds like a good retirement for the old girl.
  148. tacticalturnip

Have you ever had a hard time starting a fire on a pit or a file of wood debris?

I have two, and I haven't used either of them... I'm something else.
  149. tacticalturnip

Where do you park your tractor when not in use, inside/outside/Covered outside?

No, but that's pretty funny. This was a subcompact with a loader, and it was really amusing.
  150. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

We're... not in a good place.
  151. tacticalturnip

Where do you park your tractor when not in use, inside/outside/Covered outside?

Years ago I saw a photo of a subcompact tractor in someone's living room; it was probably an add, and I think it was a Yanmar or Kioti. Anyhow, I've spent days looking for it with no success, intending to add the caption 'If you're cold, they're cold, let them inside." That would have been...
  152. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

Maine loves to follow California's lead; I think they've backed off, but we were on the track for 'all EV by 2030' or whatever the year was.
  153. tacticalturnip

    Finally Bought Another Tractor

About time! You really took your time, but that old Ford looks brand new; may it last you for a long time.
  154. tacticalturnip

Where do you park your tractor when not in use, inside/outside/Covered outside?

What I'm hearing is that you leave your classic IH products out in the weather to be abused, yet anything else is doted on, washed, waxed, and kept indoors. Why do you hate International? ;)
  155. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

I think it was disingenuous to include illegal immigrants from the start. 🤷‍♂️

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

I don't know, they feel more like a stopgap unless we start ramping up nuclear power production. I know you love them, and I'm glad, someone has to buy these things. That said, it's going to be a hot minute before you see them dominate rural cold climates. Otherwise they wouldn't need to...

    Kioti DK40SE loader mount/subframe

I can't help, other than to give your thread a bump; that said, seeing a blue Kioti is pretty cool and I absolutely love your Rover!
  160. tacticalturnip

Where do you park your tractor when not in use, inside/outside/Covered outside?

I keep her parked in a garage, though it doesn't have a door. So, it's out from the rain, but it's not ideal.

    NS4710 HST CAB. Reliable ?

Do all HD pickups ride rough?

I love my F350, but yeah, the ride doesn't compare to an equivalently modern F150. I never thought the ride on my truck was rough, but a friend picked up a '20 F150 and it drives like a car. No comparison.
  165. tacticalturnip

Tractor Sizing Brand and size tractor suggestions, please.

Given your dealers I'd lean Kubota or New Holland; one of the positives of New Holland is that while LS is the OEM of their compact machines, they seem to get priority part support over LS dealers. Kubota speaks for themselves, but it's always worth looking at different brands.

  172. tacticalturnip

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

We ought to get a solid storm tomorrow, but it's been such an odd winter; last year it raged, this year, it's just very cold and dry.

    2025 National Farm Machinery Show - Louisville KY 2/12/2025 - 2/15/2025

Tractor in shop for 100 days

I misread OP's post, thinking the tractor was a 2024; I was presuming it was under warranty- but you're right, it may not be, and there is always the chance the work might not be covered anyhow.

That's going to be a lot of fun, I look forward to all the videos that will hit YouTube! Maybe one day I'll make it out there; how do I convince the missus that Kentucky is a great place for a romantic getaway? 🤣

Tractor in shop for 100 days

This. Request the machine be sent to another dealer; hopefully there is another NH dealer withing reasonable distance.
  178. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

That's going to be a fun time; my truck and the missus Kia are "older" and I could see losing certain functions, but I don't think they'll be disabled. That said, I also expect my F350 to just straight last longer, it's aluminum bodied, and the frame is so coated that the metal will never see...

Good to have you back, not that you know me, but none the less!

    NO WINGS

To be clear I'm not arguing against the practice of culling the birds. I hope it's not as common in small flocks as commercial operations, but who knows. I do know it would hurt to just put them all down; the biggest threat our chickens faced when I was a kid was a fox or coyotes.
  181. tacticalturnip

    NO WINGS

Of course. It's more about how the reporting is done, or maybe it's a release of information to those doing the reporting. Dying from, and culling to prevent, are two different things.
  182. tacticalturnip

    YT359 Specs

That's apples and bowling balls; compare it to a 4 series, Deere's largest compact utility tractor.
  183. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

There are two around here, very distinct; one has a green/gray wrap that makes it less off-putting, one is stock with a custom plate (CYBUH) that makes it more off-putting. Last year I was seeing a handful of Rivian's, both truck and SUV, yet this winter I can't recall when I last saw one...
  184. tacticalturnip

Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

I'm wondering how these things will be holding together come 3rd or 4th owner. I'm the 3rd owner of my F350, and I can well trust that it has plenty of life left in it. I wouldn't put my money on a new EV, regarding long-term reliability, let alone one that's 4-5 years old with 120k miles. Not...
  185. tacticalturnip

    NO WINGS

Did they die of bird flu, or were they culled to prevent the spread? It's fun not actually having any faith in the government, I wish I'd have achieved this level of entertainment years ago.

RPMs not available at startup- New NS4710

@MichiganIron is a Kioti dealer and internet part supplier, I would put my trust in them.

That's pretty neat, a bit of self-preservation built in.
  188. tacticalturnip

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

We've been low on snow in Maine as well, though it has certainly been cold.

Is that a thing with other brands? I've never had a turbo.

Debating on 2620 cab or a zero turn

I'm under the impression the CK front-mount blower is indeed a pain to install and remove, that may have even come from my dealer.
  197. tacticalturnip

Debating on 2620 cab or a zero turn

You're absolutely right, it was a pain even with my old Deere SCUT; there is just part of me that wants to enjoy a ridiculously large lawn tractor. It's almost opulent if it wasn't so ridiculous. It would be fun, if I had more money than sense.
