re: fixing stuff yourself.
In the 1980's my neighbor had his own auto repair shop at his house.
One day a Ford rep he knew was there. They were discussing computers in vehicles. The Ford rep said advanced electronics in our vehicles are working towards our goal of all Ford repairs must be performed at an authorized Ford repair service center.

Guess what, we're getting closer to that today; now with tractors.

One of the fun shows I like to watch on YouTube is the Top Shops on Successful Farming. What amazes me is how much effort is put into fixing and maintaining the equipment by the owners of the farm in their shops. Some of them have better shops then most Dealerships!!!!

Mostly they are all John Deere tractors. It would be fun to see one with a bunch of Fendt's in there.

I believe what your intended use determines what you consider a tractor.

If doing hard heavy pulling all day the Big Bud is built for doing this since the weight is built into the tractor.

If light to medium pulling and infinite speed with all types of electrical equipment then Fendt is your choice.

Pretty much all of the higher HP true ag tractors are getting more and more electronic controls while being built lighter weight wise. Part of this higher speed tillage requires less weight per HP and part is fuel economy factory rating since takes less fuel to 20,000 lbs than it does 30,000 lbs.

Believe this one has a lot of pulling power
  • The top model in the Fendt 1100 Vario MT series
  • Rated to produce 634 horsepower
  • Has a 16.2 liter engine that provides 673 horsepower
  • Has a tracked drive system with a suspension chassis

Even more impressive in person. My sister and I went to see the facility when I visited her and the custom harvest crew she worked for. Havre Montana. That’s my broken down bike in the back of the pickup. Broke down in ND. Hell of a ride from PA to MT. Tractor was so impressive that I have the complete spec page printed out in the photo album.

Anything will get stuck in the right circumstance. Nothing is immune.
I agree; in this case there was no excuse for burying it that deep.
The old adage applies, when you find yourself in a hole_ stop digging.

If Fendt can't fix it within 48 hours, they give you a loaner.
