lock n lube vs power lube

This. I won't talk down any other type, but I will say out of all the grease guns and fittings I've used, Lock N Lube is the easiest and most convenient. I've been nothing but impressed.

What water bottle do you have?

Between me, my wife, and my children, we have quite the assortment. They've got bottles of all kinds, I might grab one, but just as often I'll fill a coffee thermos with water.

    3rd function

You know, I don't remember what I paid for mine, but on the CK-10 series they didn't have the buttons pre-wired on the SCV arm. So I would at least think that would save some on the price. This new Kioti setup looks nice; back when I purchased my tractor the dealer recommended the W.R. Long...

    Safely transporting a pet

Well, easy enough; crew cab truck, put the seats up. When I get out, put the windows down a little and make sure the 40/20/40 split bench is up, and they're confined to the back. Of course this does nothing to contain hair, but it works otherwise.

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

I'd trust a 4.3 to do more towing in the long term than any turbo 4; there is no science behind it, just personal opinion and bias, lol. You've got a good truck.
  11. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

Lots of intersectionality here, like a modern college campus. I used to haul firewood in the trunk of a 1986 Crown Victoria; it saw more use as a truck than a lot of the pickups owned by my peers at the time. Though I suppose that it was just a lame sedan, with it's anemic 5.0, lol.

What do you drive for a truck?

I'm not reaching here, this isn't a hill I'm trying to die on, your arguments have just been poor thus far. I would make the informal argument that a truck in the traditional North American sense was a body-on-frame, front-engine, rear-wheel drive vehicle (typically with the option of a...

I never called it a pickup, I called it a truck, and I did so for a reason.
  18. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

Different states would differ; here in Maine an S-10 Blazer and a Silverado half-ton are both passenger cars, but that doesn't make either a Mercury Sable. I'm not speaking of how your state organizes vehicles into different registrations, I don't care how they want to tax things. I'm speaking...
  19. tacticalturnip

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

That's so foreign to me; as long as you're under 10k you can run passenger plates all day, over that you need 'commercial' plates. I basically have passenger plates on my F350, and it's totally cool so long as I don't go over 10k pounds GCWR. I can only speak for Maine, though. Ironically, at...

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

The '99-'07 GM trucks are among my favorite, great workhorses and good family vehicles too. I owned 4 of them over the years. That said, where do you live to have separate registration classes for a half-ton pickup?

It's a small tractor, but a tractor none the less; the Ridgeline is a small truck, but a truck none the less. The Ridgeline won't do all the things my F350 can do, but frankly, my F350 will never do all the things my F350 can do. My basic needs could be met with a Ridgeline, it's just not my...

    CS2220 vs CX2510

Amen. In a tractor this small you'll never get the maximum lift out of the loader without ballast; these machines will lift a lot, but without counterweight you'll find your arse end in the air long before then. Personally, I run loaded tires and a box blade, as I don't like the single use...

I'll also say this, we know our children more than anyone else. By age 6, my oldest had his own little lawn tractor, sans deck; my youngest? Nah, nope, he got a Power Wheels tractor; that little turd is far too daring for his own good.

    I hate to see this...

I'm just going to say that as a tractor guy I wouldn't let my 8 year old operate a zero-turn; as an adult I found myself quite surprised at how fast those things move the first time I operated one. That's not a tractor, in a child's hands it seems more an armed go-kart.

The CX is your sweet spot, and from the sound of it you know that; now, to get him on board. If you're insistent on one machine the CK wouldn't be for you. You can mow your lawn with it, of course, but you don't want to; it's not a lightweight. How is your property? Is it hilly? Rutted...

Piranha or Piranha Pro for CK2610?

That's a good point to consider. I left my Piranha on most of the summer, removing it in the winter. I currently have a standard reversible cutting edge, and again, it's really only removed when I use my Edge Tamers come winter. So having mulled it over, it isn't really any more of a problem...

Hello folks, I'm putting a BXpanded Piranha on my Kioti; I had one on my old John Deere 1025R and absolutely loved it. The smaller ones can use implements that attach to the frame of the tractor using a proprietary system, such as a plow, broom, front-mount snow blower, etc. All of the Deere compacts, through the 4 series, use the JDQA system on their front-end loaders. The JDQA system is as ubiquitous as...

LS Model 3110 28hp: good value?

If this is the machine, it was in production for a long time, and that series still has decedents in production. I would imagine so long as there is a nearby LS (or, depending on the model, New Holland) dealer that parts would still be well available. Not all LS models have an equivalent NH, but...

LS Model 3110 28hp: good value?

As mentioned, they're the OEM for New Holland and Case IH compacts, and has been for a decade or so; they also built machines for Montana and Farmtrac. LS entered the U.S. market under their own name in 2003. https://lstractorusa.com/

    .

I imagine the grille lights are no different than marker lights in brightness, so even if they're only for aesthetics they're not a bother. Peace, I think the truck looks great, very clean; is it white and tan two-tone?

That's a really good move, using the backhoe to support the coop. Just something real simple that I would have never thought to do.

That really is crazy; the worst part about the EV politics? We're putting out arguably the best ICE vehicles that have ever been made. That 2 liter 4 cylinder puts out close to the power of my first trucks V8 engine, that is amazing.

Is there a particular package you're looking at? There's a very neat graphics package that I'm pretty sure I like, but I can't quite decide. How did the turbo 3 cylinder feel? I looked it up real quick, it's called the Free Wheeling package.

Pat's Easy Change Comparison… pat’s vs quick hitch.

I had an iMatch on the Deere, I've got Pat's on the Kioti; I wouldn't bother replacing the Pat's with a standard Quick Hitch, personally. I wasn't bothered by the bushings when the iMatch was all I knew, but I'd never own another hitch that required them. On the other hand, I'd get a Speeco...

Arly, have you looked into this Exmark? Quest V-Series Exmark at least would give you a large dealer network, and I would think a good quality of cut. While not electric, I think I'm about to pull the trigger on a Exmark myself.

What do you drive for a truck?

Have they purchased any of the new Tundras? I'm wondering how they compare to the last generation; they just look like toys next to the previous Tundra. It's also a shame they dropped their 5.7, I have heard nothing but good things about that V8.
  173. tacticalturnip

How many acres do you own?

None; however I live on just under two. I used to have two acres of my own, but I sold it before COVID artificially inflated the market.

What do you drive for a truck?

Between GM and Ford, that's tough. I much prefer the engine lineup in the Ford, I'm wary of the 10 speed transmissions in both, but Ford has had a number of quality control issues lately. Still, have fun, I love truck shopping lol.

    Does a CAB hurt HP?

With the AC on you won't be doing anything fast, but you'll do it in comfort. The sub-25 horsepower tractors with cabs have their place, even with AC; Deere will be coming out with AC for the 1025R/2025R cab models and I believe the new Mahindra equivalents will offer it too. If you're not...
